DOGE Fights For More Guns. No, not for them, necessarily. But for Amerika:
The U.S. DOGE Service has sent staff to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives with the goal of revising or eliminating dozens of rules and gun restrictions by July 4, according to multiple people with knowledge of the efforts, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss plans that have not been made public.
The initial target was to change 47 regulations, an apparent reference to Donald Trump’s status as the 47th president of the United States, two of the people said. But ATF and DOGE staffers are now poised to exceed that goal, with upward of 50 changes planned.
The revisions are part of a seismic shift unfolding at ATF as the Trump administration proposes slashing the law enforcement agency’s budget and dramatically reducing the number of inspectors who ensure that gun sellers are in compliance with federal laws. Some Republicans in Congress have called for abolishing the agency altogether, and Attorney General Pam Bondi has said she wants to merge ATF with the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Hey, if they’re gonna attack liberal cities, they’ve gotta make sure that every hater has an arsenal. No, I’m not kidding. What other possible purpose could this serve?
Trump’s ‘Rambling Incoherence’ Once Again Ignored By Mainstream Press:
President Donald Trump got verbally sidetracked on Thursday as he tried to promote his “big beautiful bill” at a White House event.
Trump hit on a number of topics, eventually attacking trans athletes.
“I don’t wanna have transgender for anybody that happens to leave the house at a young age,” he said, then shifted mid-thought to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), suggesting a different kind of transition.
“It’s crazy and it’s so demeaning, and they don’t wanna change, I seen it the other day. Guys like Schumer, our great Palestinian senator, this guy,” he said of Schumer, who is Jewish. “He’s changed. He used to like Jewish people. Now he’s totally against Jewish people. It’s the most incredible transformation I think I’ve ever seen.”
Then he returned to trans athletes.
“But who would allow this to happen? In other sports, the same thing,” he said. “Try the weightlifting numbers some day, you wanna see some big differences. In a million years the women will never catch these numbers. It’s not gonna happen. And it’s very demeaning to women. And I don’t like it when it’s demeaning to women.”
Oh.
Could Be A Bad Day At The Supreme Court. Will they deep-six Birthright Citizenship? What other atrocities await?:
Alligator Alcatraz: Only In Amerika. And Florida:
Environmental groups, immigration rights activists and a Native American tribe have decried the construction of a harsh outdoor migrant detention camp in the Florida Everglades billed by state officials as “Alligator Alcatraz”.
Crews began preparing the facility at a remote, largely disused training airfield this week in support of the Trump administration’s aggressive goal of arresting and incarcerating 3,000 undocumented migrants every day.
Florida officials say the Everglades camp, which has been criticized by the Democratic congressman Maxwell Frost as “a cruel spectacle”, will open in the first week of July – a month in which south Florida’s daily heat index regularly exceeds 100F (37.8C).
Paid for by Florida taxpayers and homeland security department funds, the project came about after the state seized the 39-square-mile site from its owners, Miami-Dade county, under emergency powers enacted by the Republican governor, Ron DeSantis. It now faces staunch opposition from an alliance of groups.
These groups say housing up to 5,000 detainees in tents in the heat and humidity of the Florida summer, at a site surrounded by marshes and wetlands containing alligators, Burmese pythons and swarms of mosquitoes, amounts to inhumane treatment.

About Damn Time. New Castle County Increases Impact Fees On Developers For New Construction:
New Castle County will have new impact fees for new construction starting on July 1.
The ordinance passed by New Castle County Council and already signed into law by County Executive Marcus Henry will allow the county to account for the impact of new construction and help fund necessary infrastructure.
This bill passed by a 12-1 vote with Councilman Jea Street being the only no vote.
The goal is that fees levied on new development also address the impact of increased demands on parks, libraries, fire departments, EMS and police coverage.
The new law will adjust the impact fee table to account for inflation, and requires future updates be adjusted based on the Consumer Price Index.
Senate Rethugs Suck As Hostage-Takers. They’ve already admitted they will ultimately support the Bond Bill. The bill they hate is headed to the Governor’s Office. Too little, as is their caucus, too late.
Al (not A. I.) will handle the weekend duties as we have a rare weekend getaway, this time to NYC. Yes, I plan to proudly wear my Working Families Party T-shirt around Manhattan.
