BREAKING: Alonna Berry Wins RD 20 Special Election
It was close, but Berry won:
Alonna Berry: 4653
Nikki Miller: 4532.
The margin appears to have been due to the absentee ballots: 469-193 for Berry.

If there was a concerted effort to solicit absentee ballots, then whoever headed up that effort is the MVP of this election.
We spent 100k on this race. Miller spent 22k.
The money was well spent. Glad to have a state representative again.
More like $60,000 and $50,000. How much you raise is important, but so is how you spend it. Paying for signs to pollute the highways is not money well spent. Sending out mailers that are the same to voters is a waste of money; as is mailing to people who already voted. Ms. Miller wasted her money on both.
My numbers came from Spotlight Delaware. Where did yours come from?
The 8 day filing from both candidates!! Anyone can look that up,
Was it well spent? After next session I guess we will have to ask the refinery and Schell Brothers if they got their money’s worth.
Same bullshit different day. Go team blue or whatever.
What are you talking about? I don’t see any contributions to either candidate from any member of the Schell family and have never seen a contribution from “ the refinery”
Miller’s 8-Day report
07/22/2025
Christopher Schell
20184 Phillips St, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, 19971
$600.00
There was also a Schell, don’t know if it’s the same family, that gave a $25 contribution to Alonna Berry.
Looking at the reports, it was pretty much the usual suspects on both sides.
I am glad to be corrected. I went on memory and should have looked again.

I was referring to this, which I assume you missed.
“ According to campaign finance reports, Berry’s campaign committee and Democratic-leaning political organizations have spent about $100,000 in less than a month in support of her effort to win the Aug. 5 special election.”
“ Nikki Miller, the Republican candidate, has spent a fraction of the amount of her rival – about $22,000 in July, according to her campaign finance reports.
Among Berry’s biggest financial supporters is First State Strong, a political committee that on Monday paid $38,865 to a consultancy company for an apparent advertising blitz in the days leading up to the Aug. 5 election.
First State Strong reported that the money came from its affiliated political action committee, First State Strong PAC, but that group has not been active in Delaware since 2018, according to state records.
A political committee registered with the federal government that shares an address and treasurer, called First State Strong FEC, reported having $47,000 in the bank, as of June 30.
Its biggest donors last year – at $50,000 each – were the Schell Brothers development company; the Delaware City refinery owner, PBF Energy; and the Leadership and Development Alliance, a political organization backed by Kent County business executives. ”
That is MORE than a little concerning–especially since the refinery or, more accurately, its parent company, is deeply-involved with this whole data center project.
Yep, let’s see if they get what they paid for.
YIKES.
I’ll still give her a fair shot but that is quite the red flag. Thank you for sharing.
Who cares how much is spent by either side. Voters should get themselves informed and vote accordingly. If they are swayed by propaganda and marketing, it’s on them. Please people, don’t be swayed by nonsense marketing. Be informed and thoughtful.
