‘Bulo’s Fave Tunes: August 2025

There’s one Song Of The Year candidate in this mix, you’re welcome to guess which one it is.

Aiyana-Lee didn’t just blow this song out of the water, she wrote it for the latest Spike Lee joint.  Hope it gets an Oscar nom:

I’ve always found Animal Collective resistable–until now:

Swampy Noir–that’s my musical neighborhood right there:

Great combination of song and video:

I think this guy’s a genius–as in, pretty much everything he does fascinates me:

Guess that breakup with Jason Isbell wasn’t all that amicable:

A true national treasure turns this Kevin Morby song into an instant classic:

FWIW, that Mavis Staples song will be in the running for my fave song of the year.

That’s about all the info I choose to share at this point…

  3. Just learned that Aiyana-Lee is David Ruffin’s niece and Jimmy Ruffin’s granddaughter.

    Yes, I’m old.

BTW, that Belair Lip Bombs song has really grown on me.
