Finally, The Story Of Trooper Snook’s Killer.  A paranoid guy who thought he was being followed by police ‘gangs’:

Delaware State Police said Friday that Corporal Grade-One Ty Snook was the victim of a targeted attack against law enforcement when he was gunned down while on overtime duty at the Hessler Boulevard DMV December 23rd.

The gunman, Rahman Rose, was shot to death by a responding county officer.

According to State Police, a thorough investigation indicates that Rose, who had previously lived in Connecticut, was staying in the Wilmington area without a permanent address. Rose apparently told people who knew him that he believed police were targeting him, that he was concerned that law enforcement was coming after him, and that he had posted anti-police content on social media, saying he was the victim of “gang stalking.”

The investigation found no evidence that Rose acted with anyone else. He had limited contact with Delaware law enforcement in the year before the incident, but nothing that led to arrest.

Also, no evidence was found of any prior relationship, interaction or dispute between Rose and Snook.

I think we can put away our conspiracy theories for another day.

Val Longhurst’s Future?  Just b/c there’s been radio silence on the, um, disappearance of a whole lot of money from PAL doesn’t mean that stuff’s not going on behind the scenes.  Far be it for me to make light of Longhurst’s potential legal issues (he lied), but I’ve denied you the gift of (something approximating) music for too long.  Time for one of rock’s great philosophers to pontificate:

“Didn’t have a dime for a call, public defender laughin’ in the hall…’

Judge Tries To Make ICE Act Lawfully:

A federal judge in Minnesota imposed restrictions on the actions of immigration agents toward protesters in the state on Friday, a decision that comes after weeks of mounting tension between demonstrators and federal officers.

Judge Kate M. Menendez ordered agents not to retaliate against people “engaging in peaceful and unobstructive protest activity,” and not to use pepper spray or other “crowd dispersal tools” in retaliation for protected speech. The judge also said agents could not stop or detain protesters in vehicles who were not “forcibly obstructing or interfering with” agents.

Meanwhile, the lawless ‘Justice Department’ targets Minnesota leaders:

The Trump administration has opened a criminal investigation into elected Democrats in Minnesota, according to a senior law enforcement official familiar with the matter, a major escalation in the fight between the federal government and local officials over the aggressive immigration crackdown underway in the city.

The investigation would focus on allegations that Gov. Tim Walz and Jacob Frey, the mayor of Minneapolis, had conspired to impede thousands of federal agents who have been sent to the city since last month. Last week, one of those agents killed a 37-year-old woman, Renee Good.

It remained unclear what investigative steps have been taken. The senior law enforcement official said subpoenas had yet to be issued, but could be in the days to come. Both Mr. Walz and Mr. Frey responded with combative statements on Friday night, denouncing what they said was a weaponized use of law enforcement power and promising to stand firm in the face of the administration’s efforts.

“Weaponizing the justice system and threatening political opponents is a dangerous, authoritarian tactic,” Mr. Walz said in a statement released by his office, which said it had not yet received notice of an investigation. “The only person not being investigated for the shooting of Renee Good is the federal agent who shot her.”

Absolute Corruption:

President Donald Trump bought more than $1 million worth of corporate bonds from Netflix and Warner Bros. Discovery only weeks after the media giants announced a $83 billion merger deal that could reshape Hollywood.

Trump has involved himself in Netflix’s blockbuster deal to buy Warner Bros. Discovery and has criticized Netflix’s market power.

“They have a very big market share,” Trump told reporters at the Kennedy Center on Dec. 7, two days after the deal was announced. “When they have Warner Bros., that share goes up a lot. So, I don’t know. That’s going to be for some economists to tell and also — and I’ll be involved in that decision too. But they have a very big market share.”

‘Department Of Justice’ Claims That Nobody Can Force Them To Release Epstein Files.  You remember the Epstein Files:

The U.S. Department of Justice has formally moved to block the appointment of an independent monitor or special master to oversee the release of Epstein-related records in the long-closed criminal case of Ghislaine Maxwell—arguing that no federal court has the authority to compel such disclosures.

In a six-page letter filed tonight (Friday night, of course), to U.S. District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer, prosecutors contend that recent efforts by members of Congress to force production of the so-called “Epstein files” amount to an improper attempt to reopen a concluded criminal case and to create a form of judicial oversight that Congress itself did not authorize.

‘DOJ’ knows what’s in those files.  They’re not (to state the obvious) standing on principle.  They’re covering up some really bad shit on Trump.  I, uh, don’t think that even Rethugs will react like lemmings to this.

A Florida congressional candidate says he bought the online domain nazis.us and set it up to redirect visitors to the US Department of Homeland Security, under whom federal agents have been carrying out brutal immigration crackdowns at the behest of the Trump administration.

Mark Davis, who is running for Republican Vern Buchanan’s seat in November’s midterms, took responsibility for the ploy in a Friday X post – as polling showed most Americans believe the killing of Minneapolis woman Renee Nicole Good by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent demonstrated problems with the way ICE has been operating.

“I’m a nobody. A dad in [conservative] Florida,” Davis wrote. “And I’m the one who bought nazis.us because [Trump’s Republican party] went full fascist and … not a soul in power thought to actually raise hell. So I did.”

Davis, who lists no party affiliation, added that if establishment figures “won’t fight Nazis, then a nobody fucking will”.

He’s right, you know.  What’s with all these Democrats who caution, ‘We mustn’t say the word’?  Say it: Fascism.

What do you want to talk about?

Yep no “conspiracy.” Guy was absolutely deranged. I wonder why a severely mentally ill person would think American law enforcement was out to get him. (real head scratcher, that, huh) And with simple access to firearms and difficult access to mental health care…

This is a real American story.

Maybe the guy was crazy, maybe he had a personal beef. The investigation is controlled by the police so you only get the story they want you to hear. At best Snook was the victim of a casual murder. He didn’t do anything remarkable enough to earn the kind of overblown hero treatment given. Our spineless legislators once again caved in the moment and played into this disgusting display of copaganda. Talk about a three-ring circus.

Damn I crapped out. Who had mental health issues in the pool?

  3. Vivian Houghton says:

Why hasn’t anyone mentioned the words, “Suicide by cop,” as the motive
    for the killing of Snook?
