Song of the Day 9/27: Frank Zappa, “What’s the Ugliest Part of Your Body?”

Donald Trump was never an attractive man. In his younger days he fobbed himself off to gossip columnists as some sort of playboy, and in later years bragged that he used to fuck his friends’ wives, but only a fool would buy any of that. With his simpering baby face, his anus-shaped mouth and his disgusting personal habits, even a blind woman wouldn’t fuck him unless he left the money on the dresser.

Now, of course, he’s a disintegrating pile of rotting flesh who smells like a sewer and looks like Brazilian beef that’s been left out in the sun too long. But there’s no question what the ugliest part of him is.

Frank Zappa nailed the answer back in 1968 on his third album, “We’re Only in It for the Money,” his caustic critique of the hippie subculture.

The song was reprised on Side 2.

A few acts have covered the tune, including Chumbawamba, but the most interesting is by Swedish composer and guitarist Hans Annellsson, who treated it as a chamber piece.
