Trump certainly has diminished mental capacity
This interaction with a professional, career intelligence analyst in the Oval Office is fucked up five ways to Sunday. I have no lingering doubt that Trump is unfit to serve and that the United States of America has become a shithole thanks to him.
A career intelligence analyst who is an expert in hostage policy stood before President Donald Trump in the Oval Office last fall to brief him on the impending release of a family long held in Pakistan under uncertain circumstances.
It was her first time meeting the president, and when she was done briefing, he had a question for her.
“Where are you from?” the president asked, according to two officials with direct knowledge of the exchange.
New York, she replied.
Trump was unsatisfied and asked again, the officials said. Referring to the president’s hometown, she offered that she, too, was from Manhattan. But that’s not what the president was after.
He wanted to know where “your people” are from, according to the officials, who spoke under condition of anonymity due to the nature of the internal discussions.
After the analyst revealed that her parents are Korean, Trump turned to an adviser in the room and seemed to suggest her ethnicity should determine her career path, asking why the “pretty Korean lady” isn’t negotiating with North Korea on his administration’s behalf, the officials said.
In the last 5000 years socialism has worked well as an economic system in ZERO countries on the planet. In the last 100 years capitalism has lifted hundreds of millions of people out of poverty around the planet. Democrats still think socialism is better for our country than capitalism. And they are claimingTrump is mentally unstable!
You idiot. Do you know of a country called Sweden? Why don’t you tell the Swdes or Fins about your half baked, infantile theories of socialism and capitalism?
And by the way capitalism dates to the early 1600’s when the first stock companies were formed. It isn’t 5,000 years old you blithering idiot.
Jason, explain to me where I say Capitalism is 5000 years old. I’m waiting…
Denmark. France. Germany. Australia. Canada. Iceland. Norway. The Netherlands. UK. Finland.
Sweden. Ireland. New Zealand. Belgium.
You did capitalize the word zero though so..
Now go run along, Russ. That’s a good lad.
This post isn’t even about socialism you fucktwit. It’s about how your dear leader, never the mental giant, is getting more unhinged every day. Try to Keep up.
And it’s the return of patheticus maximus, also know as Rusty Dils! But the game doth grow old, suggest a rebranding to Crusty Dils, perhaps just Crusty so as to eliminate the pickle reference.
Pickle reference? I thought it referenced something purchased at an adult store.
John Kowalko
Still waiting for Jason to show me where I say Capitalism is 5000 years old
“Lifted out of poverty”
This is the tired old conservative thinking which holds that because even today’s poor have some nice things — TV sets, washing machines — they have it better than even rich people had it 100 years ago. Corollary: So stop whining.
This makes sense only if you think that technology, which is what actually made the vast increase in material goods possible, was produced by capitalism — a proposition shown to be untrue by the fact that technological innovations have been accumulating since antiquity, under all sorts of economic systems.
Beyond that, what is the purpose of any economic system? We Americans like to pretend we’re interested in spreading prosperity around the globe for its own sake, rather than for our profit, but the flawed premise in this formulation is the one consumer capitalism is built upon — that prosperity brings happiness.
As for socialism never working, most primitive hunter-gatherer societies have what you would consider socialistic practices. Socialism only fails when some people want to tell other people what to do.
Capitalism extracts value from two things, natural resources and labor. In order to extract value from labor, the employer must take for himself some of the value produced by the laborer, and generally takes control of the majority of an employee’s time. Therefore capitalism is incompatible with freedom.
Rusty Dils. I don’t assume anything about your religion. But let’s say you are a Christian and attend church regularly. The church you attend uses a socialist/communist framework of organization regarding its finances. You all contribute and decide as a collective how to use the money. That is socialism. Now, forget the snappy comeback. It’s too late.
Oh please, let’s take a close look at DE and be honest – it’s a shithole. 30 Years of Liberal control.. LOL
Bill Clinton, go back to the shithole you crawled out of.
Democrats in control, yes. Liberals, no.
Better step up your game, Bill.
For the life of me I don”t understand why many, many liberals who are upset with the U.S. have not already moved to places like Sweden, Finland, UK, Canada and the like. I’m sure a one way plane ticket would be less than a grand.
The fact that you don’t understand the steps involved in moving to another country just underscores your ignorance. Is that the point you were trying to make?
Besides, I want to stay here and make it impossible for people like you to keep getting away with it.
However, he beat Hillary.
The only people lining up to go to Europe are Syrian and Arab refugees. Enough said on that one, Europe is dying a slow liberal induced death.
Had the US not started an unprovoked war in Iraq, those refugees might still be in their home countries. Eastward migration (central Aisa) doesn’t improve circumstances, i.e peaceful existence. Not to mention the terrain is more difficult. Westward migration leads to a more sustainable existence.
There is no nation state that can overcome the mass movement of people determined to improve their lives, King Canute.
Dennis, political “liberalism” is something people like. I’m not talking about party liberalism. It is the deeper strain of liberalism that is the foundation for this country and Western Europe. Transparency, freedom of thought, religion, press, “the greater good” being a guiding principle. The fate of the world turned, in part, on the choice of Kaiser Wilhelm to either embrace political liberalism, as had the monarch of England, the French Republic, the Netherlands, Belgium, or turn to autocracy. Being the tortured, disfigured person he was, through little fault of his own, the Kaiser turned to autocracy and the world began its slide into WWI. You probably regard this liberalism I am talking about as something you want, but your lack of facility with either thinking or language prevents you from embracing you own heart.
In general all isms suck. Mostly because they promote tribalism and naturally tribes are always in competition with other tribes (except for the occasionally alliance to be up on a weaker tribe). However, that’s off topic.
On topic, I believe that the Trump is suffering from early onset of Alzheimer’s or dementia. The reason I say early onset is that he is mostly lucid (although I suppose that could be up for debate as well). I could be convinced that he is very close to mid stage, but that’s a lot more scary. The only thing scarier, is figuring out who is running/going to run the country. If Trump goes, we are left with Pence.
I’ll defer to Jerry Seinfeld on this one. Anyone who thinks they should be in charge of the whole country (President) has to be crazy!
I like how you all try to make some sort of structured reasoned argument in this space. It’s admirable and quaint. Godspeed.
RE Vanilla http://thefederalist.com/2015/08/11/scandinavia-isnt-a-socialist-paradise/
It’s a weak argument you linked to, Rusty. She points out they aren’t “socialist,” as the state doesn’t own the factories, which nobody there or here wants to do. This is known as a “straw man” argument.
They pay high taxes. In exchange they not only get social services, they are free of the worry of how they’ll pay for them.
Many of us have traveled abroad, Rusty, even if you haven’t. You’re mansplaining.
Hahaha.Somebody’s been scouring the internet. What did the Heritage Foundation or AEI have to say?
You’re a joke to me.
Alby, my arguement is weak, but your arguement is strong because….Bernie said so. You also got strawman arguement wrong, responding to Jason and Vanella’s statement.
P.S. I have no way of knowing how much world travel you have done, and you have no way of knowing how much world travel I have done. But that does not change the fact that the U.S. whose economy has been mostly Capitalism during its 240 years as a country surpased as an economic power all the other countries in the world, many of whom have been around much, much longer, a long time ago.
Your ignorance is towering. I’m not going to explain economics to you, because it would be more useful to explain it to a dog.

Dave, if one chamber goes dem, I’ll take Pence in a heart beat. (Or possible lack there of) If Rusty’s Lord isnt around to keep the trailer trash voting, the GOP is done.
Agreed, but the GOP is only defending 8 House seats. In the Senate, Democrats only need to gain 2 seats, but they are defending 25 seats.
I would bet that the GOP retains controls of both chambers (albeit reduced majorities). Even worse though is that unless something catastrophic happens, Trump will complete his term, run for re-election and win unless some strong personality shows up that can capture the public’s interest. By nature, I’m not a doom and gloomer but thems the numbers.
I’ll take the bet on the House.
Dave, how do you figure they are only defending 8 house seats?
Sorry, I meant 8 GOP seats in the Senate.
