It Wasn’t That Good of a Movie, Joe.
I am sure this is true, since I saw Joe and Jill Biden at the same theater a couple of years ago.
Employees at the Regal Brandywine Cinemas say the vice president-elect and his wife, Jill, tried to attend the [Saturday night] 7:45 showing of “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” at the theater on Concord Pike but left after they were told the movie was sold out.
…
Inshirah Muhamut, an associate manager, said she closed her box-office line when she saw what appeared to be a Secret Service agent coming her way. The man asked her about tickets for the movie, which stars Brad Pitt, then left. A few minutes later, she said, the Bidens came into the lobby. Jill Biden walked up to speak with Muhamut while Joe stood nearby. “She was asking me about other shows, but they really wanted to see ‘Benjamin Button,’ ” Muhamut said. “He was maybe five feet away, looking at her. He was standing with his other Secret Service men.”
…
“I recognized him as soon as he came up,” she said. “He had a black jacket and jeans on. He looked real casual. His wife had on a very stylish jacket.” [Theater employee Becky] Gingrich and Muhamut said the Bidens didn’t ask for special treatment. They simply mulled over their movie options and left.
I went to that theater the same day earlier in the afternoon (around 4 pm) to see “The Day the Earth Stood Still.” But I was too late for the 3 pm showing and there wasn’t another until 5:30. So I left, but I can attest to the fact that it was packed in the lobby at that hour. Still, I can’t believe Biden or his staff didn’t call ahead to reserve tickets. Or how about Fandango?
They couldn’t get a screening copy sent to them?
Seriously.
Why didn’t they watch the GOP history; Night of the Living Dead?
Just ranted about this on air. This is some ridiculous shit. Biden and his wife can’t be that dumb. And the Secret Service officials? I’d have been laughing my ass off. You’re right re: Fandango. There were certainly ways for them to get tickets. Methinks they’re just clueless.
Or they decided to go to the movies at the last minute with no advance planning.
They are just regular folks. I agree with DD.
BTW – Drudge linked the the NJ story giving it a headline that said nobody recognized them.
What a lying stupid POS that guy is.
They probably got hit with the reality that they can’t be regular folks anymore.
The VP just doesn’t go to the movies on a whim.
Reminds me of Clinton’s jogging to McDonalds..
or….maybe he thought he was at the Concord Pike Charcoal Pit, back in 1987. My senior year in high school (Mt.P.), went to the Charcoal Pit for the post-event ritual. Decent size line. In walks Joe and one of the boys. Walks to the front of the line and they seat him. He was royalty back then.
Is Benjamin Buttons worth seeing? Whats your take?
with Biden as VP.. it’s not “GD America” as Wright would say
it is now “God Help America”
Hardy har…Good one!
Anyway…(addressing the adults) what I think the NJ got wrong (Shocking!) is that nobody recognized the Bidens.
It is much more reasonable to assume that they were simply allowed thier privacy by people who are used to seeing them out and about.
The national media picked up on that part of the story and is painting Delawareans as a bunch of nit wits.
facts are Biden didn’t even have very many fans before Obama picked him for VP.. he only got what? 1% of the votes in the primaries.. so of course not many would even recognize him.. even with his body guards present.. Lets be honest here.. Biden is a nobody.. whom Obama will have to, over time, keep on a short leash, if he is smart.
Joe #12…short sighted sarcasm at it’s best. I’m no defender of Biden, but do you REALLY think he’s fan-less and/or unrecognizable around here, or does your obvious distaste of the man cloud your ability to recognize a shallow point?
In Delaware, Joe is far from a nobody. On the national scene, he is the 4th most senior member of the Senate. Hardly a nobody. Just because he didn’t garner much of the vote in Iowa doesn’t mean, in the least, that he isn’t a highly skilled politician.
Methinks Joe is a troll.
Joe – in Delaware, all our old people look like Joe and Jill. It is an understandable mistake.
since when is being honest trolling?? facts are it isn’t.. Biden may be well known in Delaware but be honest here.. he really only got 1% of the votes nation wide.. that says people did not know him that well..nation wide.. and America never voted for which candidates had experience at all.. so his senate record makes no difference.. be honest people.. Biden will only be known now for being VP.. his 35 years in the senate didn’t help him in the primaries.. so why would it help him now.. and if his own people in Delaware won’t even help him get a seat at a movie, then that speaks volumes.. about how much Biden is liked to begin with..
I think anon got it right.. he is just another average Joe.. wink!
When you aren’t being honest, it is trolling. You aren’t being honest, you are comparing apples and sardines.
Getting 1% of the vote means that only 1% of people wanted him as President. It also ignores the fact that he jumped out of the Presidential race early (January 4th). So in the only actual vote that took place while he was still a valid candidate he got 1% (But this was a caucus, so that isn’t even a valid representation). He polled at 5% just prior to the actual caucus.
So to come here and misrepresent votes as name recognition and a caucus result as a percentage of votes cast AND that the whole primary season as a dataset with Joe’s active participation in less than 2% of the contests makes you a grade A troll.
Further:
Please take your trollish ass elsewhere.
Geek,
He can go to Israel with the other GOP intelligentsia.

name recognition?? oh I see so Obama never used him for his experience then.. just for his name? LMAO it appears Obama fears Biden and what spurts out of his mouth.. for I do believe Obama appointed someone to watch Biden closely so he doesn’t keep tripping over his mouth.. Palin was correct when she said that the worst thing Obama has to fear is Biden’s next speech. lol sorry folks but Biden is not the sharpest tool in the shed.. have a good day.. 🙂 and obviously not everyone in Delaware likes Biden or he would have gotten a seat in the movie.. wink!
