UPDATE: Culture of dishonesty – Listen to WDEL’s “News at Noon”
Listening to Levin and reading the comments here, it is surprising how comfortable everyone is with the gop’s CULTURE OF DISHONESTY. From Terry Strine to Alan Levin the casual use of dishonesty still surprises me.
I know, in the age of Bush, I shouldn’t be surprised and yet I am.
Loudell is going to ask Levin about the bait and switch he pulled on Walgreen’s investors.
I’m betting Walgreen’s asked him to leave or at least expected him to leave – that’s the usual scenario for an acquisition. Is there some recent statement that says they are unhappy with Levin leaving? I can’t imagine Walgreen’s success or failure depends on Levin’s management skills.
No giant corp. likes to have its assimilations retain their separate identity. The usual evolution here is that the Happy Harry’s will be turned into Walgreens, after flensing the higher paid employees from the payroll. That’s difficult to do from a moral point of view while “Daddy” (Levin) is still around.
Current Happy Harry’s employees: please remember the corporate truth: “When the going gets tough, the weak get screwed.”
Hey Loudell… let’s see you get some Bank of America reps in the hotseat next.
It is a sad day when a radio station like WDEL, (THE PUBLIC AIRWAYS), thinks it can choose our leaders by having a “couple of guys” sittin’ around pushing the candidate of the Delaware Chamber of Commerce. WDEL owners are full time members and supporters of the Delaware Chamber.
Alan Levin gets free advertising from the “couple” on WDEL, but I was surprised to hear Alan chime in that way.
Lets refuse to permit the “couple” push their candidates (hell who knows if money isnt flowing under the table)….wouldnt surprise me! But of course we need proof of that in a democracy….
Will Alan Levine put down “in kind contributions and attribute that money to WDEL”..
The public (the true owners of these airways) should not sit still while the “couple” decide who are the best and greatest politicans this year. They should not be able to make statements or shut people off the air with opposing views….that “mike” in the wrong hands can be devastating to a democracy…but of course there is no democracy in Delaware…only them and us.
