I love how Liberals have had to hold their noses for years and vote for walking mediocrities like Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, and John Kerry and now that the tables have turned, holding one’s nose is just terrible. TERRIBLE, I say!

I disagreed with on some issues but voted for these three and find your characterization of mediocrity baffling:
Gore-Among the first in the political class to fiercely crusade about the apocalypse of climate change.
Clinton-a fierce feminist as first lady who courageously stood up to miscegeny.
Kerry-An anti-war vet who spoke truth to power on the tragic error of Vietnam.
What does one have to do to attain your admiration, or at least, minimal respect?
Something that has some material relevance.
On that score I have always admired Gore for the climate position (as well as his debate comments about the social security “lock-box”, which is sort of proto MMT, and the internet thing). He was mocked for all this but he was proved prescient.
Clinton and Kerry can just retire. Zero value for me.
They were mediocre presidential candidates. They all lost, hence the judgment.
Likability. Can’t get elected without it.
Gore- Will earn my respect when he doesn’t pick Joe Liebermann for VP then run a shit-ass campaign thereby allowing GWB to be elected.
Clinton- Similar. Also, the stain of “third-way” DLC-economics that she never tried to wash off.
Kerry- Meh. More trying to win by 50%+1 in the electoral college while trying to be just bland enough to win the “middle” and providing no nationalized Democratic message or campaign.

And all of them lost. Which part of that did you miss? The statement that they were mediocrities was made in reference to their presidential candidacies, not their fucking resumes. Don’t play dumb.
Calling the people you disagree with “stupid’ isn’t a convincing argument. Do you have any evidence that these people were good choices as presidential nominees? If so, produce it so we can move this discussion forward. Because all you’re proving now is that you’re a conventional-wisdom-spouting automaton.

Furthermore, the point here is that they all thought the way to victory was to counteract the stupidity of Republicans. If you’ll recall, John Kerry was selected over Howard Dean because John Kerry would blunt the charge that Democrats were soft on terror. They wouldn’t dare say such things about a decorated veteran! Except of course they did, so one stupid decision to “outfox” the GOP turned into a suicide bomb.
Hillary Clinton worked on health care because her husband gave her the job. Doing a job someone gave you doesn’t make you a fucking hero.
Al Gore was indeed right about climate change. But he was stiff and unlikable, so he lost to a more-likable (to people who don’t mind overprivileged frat boys) W.
