Lysol To America: Don’t Inject Us, Or Ingest Us.  The President is insane and dangerously unhinged. Even by his standards, his performance yesterday was a cry to remove him from office via the 25th Amendment.  Taking his advice will literally kill you. It’s also clear that he’s out of answers and is just throwing shit up there. He is officially the Tide Pod President. Why aren’t public officials screaming this from the rafters?  C’mon, Mitt, you might as well take the lead.

Trump Wanted To ‘Flood’ New York And New Jersey With Chloroquine.  Brilliantly-researched.  This was Trump’s only plan to stop the virus and it was not based in reality.  A must-read.

This Poll Doesn’t Lie.  I don’t generally feature polls here.  But this rolling poll from 538 shows that Trump’s support is in free-fall.  It’s a ‘poll of polls’. It doesn’t reflect Trump’s latest rantings, but I don’t see a rally in his support any time soon.

Everything Falls Apart, Ctd.  Global. US.  The latest carnage:  869,172 confirmed cases and 49,963 deaths in the US.  That’s more than 3000 deaths in one day. Not. Good. BTW, the Villages in Florida is fast becoming a hot spot. Once Trump’s lost the Villages, he’s lost Florida.

Why Black-Owned Businesses Get Screwed On Coronavirus Relief.  There is no such thing as ‘equal treatment’.  By definition, equal treatment discriminates against minority-owned businesses.

Rethugs Destroyed South Carolina Health Care. Then Pandemic Hit.  The results were predictable.  Of course, no way South Carolina was gonna embrace Obamacare, so there was that as well.

US Won’t Take Part In WHO Covid-19 Plan.  Everybody else will.  Trump refuses to take part for only one reason–he’d rather scapegoat the WHO than search for Covid-19 treatments. 25th Amendment, anybody?

Trump’s Plan To Save His Presidency.  It’s more like a ‘Hail, Mary’.  Of course, that’s how he won in the first place.

Trump Owes $211 Million To The Bank Of China.  That might put a dent into his anti-China messaging, don’tchathink?

Here’s The Poop On NCC Coronavirus Cases.  The results from these fecal bacterial studies? A shitload of undetected Covid-19 cases.

Why Sussex Covid-19 Cases Are Soaring.  The money quote:

The reality is that the poultry plants are just a symptom of a much larger problem in Sussex County, where million dollar homes line the beaches, but socioeconomic and racial issues saturate the county west of the waterfront.

Yes. That.

What do you want to talk about?

Just remember when the kids were eating Tide Pods – no Covid-19. Coincidence?

The Hubble Space Telescope was launched 30 years ago today. It’s still up there and still working. The final servicing mission was in 2009 via the space shuttle Atlantis.

Knew “The Villages” in Florida, a.k.a. enormous trailer parks, would become a hot spot. Chock full of geezers, almost all conservative, they would not be inclined to follow any of the suggested measure to avoid the disease, especially social distancing and wearing masks. As noted as goes Florida so goes Trump out the door. Should be noted Biden has suggested Trump will try to delay the election in November, would not be surprised at all, and then we can tell who are the real traitors to the constitution. Lindsey Graham comes to mind.

I have a colleague who left the Food Bank a while back and when I asked why, it was because of undescribed “differences” with Beebe around future goals of the organization. I have wondered since then about her.

By the way, the poop study is being debunked soundly by people with more background on the subject that I have. I will be looking into it further and report back.

  5. A great opinion column from Frank Bruni. Can’t say I’ve read much of his work, but this one gets a ‘right on’ from me:

Trump now claims his musings about disinfectant injections were “sarcasm.”

To which I can only say, “Yeah, right.”
