Flat out lying to get on the Supreme Court

Filed in National by on October 14, 2020

I get having to be evasive and all that shit – but flat out lying for a seat on the court seems like something someone with decent morals and a sense of dignity wouldn’t do.

Asked by Kamala Harris if she were aware — before she got the nomination — of Trump’s vows to choose a Supreme Court nominee who would strike down the ACA, Amy Coney Barrett said: “I don’t recall seeing or hearing those statements.”

I mean, unless you want unscrupulous liars on the court. then it makes sense.

Clarence Thomas set the precedent for putting unscrupulous liars on the court. They’re just following precedent.

Not being able to simply call unscrupulous liars, unscrupulous liars is a Dem weakness that Republicans can’t get enough of exploiting.

I thought Willies piece wanted Medicare for all?

If the SC cult takes down the ACA, we will have Medicare for All soon enough.

true. The “burn it all down” nihilist take in this case actually works. If… the democrats have the guts to pass wildly popular legislation over the protests of a few 1%ers.

On the other hand, there are enough of those 1%ers to deny us the filibuster repeal we will need to pass Medicare for All (looking at you Chris Coons).

When I wonder how long will it take Coons to get the worst Democrats in the senate together with some blue state republicans senators to form some kind of “gang of seven” in order to frustrate Dem initiatives, I realize that it is probably already happening.
