How horrible are Tom Carper and Chris Coons?

Filed in National by on November 12, 2020

This horrible. They joined Republicans to vote in favor of seating Trump appointed judges during this lame duck session.

The Senate meets at 11 a.m. to resume consideration of the nomination of Aileen Mercedes Cannon to be U.S. district judge for the Southern District of Florida. At noon, the Senate will vote on a motion to invoke cloture on the Cannon nomination. At 1:45 p.m., if cloture is invoked on the Cannon nomination, the Senate will vote on confirmation of the Cannon nomination.

When you think Coons can’t get any worse.

It’s even worse than it sounds. Coons, Carper, and 10 other Dems provided cover for 6 Republican senators to shield them from taking this difficult vote.

Were it a party line vote, McConnell could only allow 2 Repub defections. But by voting Yes, Democrats allowed 6 additonal Repubs to vote “Not Voting” including Kelly Loeffler, who is currently in a battle for control of the Senate.

Way to not hold their feet to the fire, Carpoons and DiFi.

It’s not Coons and DiFi, it’s the Democrats as a group. The entire party. They suck, and their suckitude is why Republicans ever win.

      • Alby says:

That said, I think part of the deal on this particular judge is that she was born in Columbia, making her a person of color. It would be just like Democrats to show how unbiased they are by voting for a conservative just because she’s a Latina.

Both are a fine argument for term limits, their still pretending the judiciary is impartial and non political, absurd as they are anything but and have an agenda that is obvious.
