Amazes me that existing senators/congress genuflect as you describe. I mean, that’s tremendous resume material. If they get voted out it’s not like they’re going back to the night shift at Wawa. Are the perks that good to warrant selling your soul for such a short term populist cult? Talk about a shitty way to go through life.
All that plus.. they had a clear getaway route. Why keep Trump relevant when they could have easily used the attack to say – “while I agree that trump was a great President for 3.5 years. The last 6 months have been a disaster that needs to be accounted for.”
They aren’t afraid of Trump. They’re afraid of their own voters. Remember, their No. 1 target on Jan. 6 was Pence.
For those who think there’s no such thing as white privilege, remember the Central Park Karen who lied to cops about an assault by a Black guy who turned out to be a birdwatcher?
You might remember that she was arrested for filing a false police report, an absurdly mild charge considering that telling the cops you’re being assaulted by a Black guy can easily get that guy killed. She could have faced up to a year in prison, though jail time would have been less important than ensuring some kind of conviction. Let her plead down to a misdemeanor.
Nope. Charges against her were dropped because she underwent five sessions of therapy about how “racial identities shape our lives,” prosecutor Joan Illuzzi told a judge, according to an account provided by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office.
