My conversation with Delaware Congressman Mike Castle…

So, I had a chance to chat with my Congressional Representative Mike Castle (R-DE) yesterday evening. He was quite polite and shook my two daughters’ hands. There was no one else around, so I took the opportunity to have a short chat with him. I thanked him for a few specific votes, and also attempted to “reinforce” the fact that he claims to be a Republican by thanking him for his support of President Bush.

His reply caught me offguard. He said (paraphrasing): “In this environment it’s very hard”. While it could mean any number of things, the tone of his voice and change in his demeanor indicated to me at least that any support of Bush was lukewarm at best. For the man that served as Lt. Governor under staunch Conservative Pete DuPont, and later succeded him to that office, this is simply not an acceptable attitude.

I replied that anything worthwhile usually is (difficult). No wonder the Republican party in Delaware is wandering around without any sort of leadership or direction…

Poor wingnut. Mike Castle is a girlie man when it comes being upfront about his supports for the President. Poor Mike Castle. He is a big wussy who support Bush.

That is one perceptive wingnut. Mike Castle has mastered the art of not saying anything when he speaks.
