The Jan. 6 insurrection was a “shock to the system,” propelling members of Congress toward the goal of shoring up America’s ability to compete with China, Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.) told Axios during an interview Thursday.

A loss of congressional seats and electoral votes in the Great Lakes region gives heft to Texas and Florida, although Democrats expected worse.
A successful ninja is unseen, unheard, stealthy.
By that standard, the firm Cyber Ninjas — which Arizona Republicans chose to audit the ballots cast in 2020 in the Phoenix area — fits the bill: Almost no one involved in election or politics in Florida, the state where the company is headquartered, seems to have heard of it or knows anything about it.

US population is shifting but it is also going down.
“The (total fertility) rate has generally been below replacement since 1971 and consistently below replacement since 2007,” the CDCreport says.
So the boogaloo boys who chant, “you will not replace us” are literally whistling passed the graveyard.
Actually, it’s why they’re so panicky. They have been replaced and they know it.
I was kinda thinking of ‘Jave Jarter’ as Matt Meyer’s replacement should Matt run for Governor in 2024. Was very impressed with his thoughts on the windfall NCC is about to receive.
That’s not bad.
There will be a new county exec whether or not Matt runs for governor. He is term limited. I know two Democrats seriously considering a run for county exec. If Matt runs for governor, there will be two or more primary opponents.
Of course there will. Bethany Hall-Long fully expects to inherit the office, and I’m sure there are actual liberals who think we’ve had enough neo-liberals in Woodburn.

“Cyber Ninjas” you say? Can you think of a better warning sign for political games and fraud then that? Maricopa County has had multiple recounts and had assorted law suits all thrown out of court, now their trying to hide what their doing. Gee, wonder why? Suspect their will be lawsuits all around when the game is done.
Except for Montana and possibly Oregon, the states that gained representation did so because their minority populations increased, so it’s a mixed blessing and a redistricting challenge for places like Texas.
Computers can do a lot when it comes to redistricting, but they can’t create voters who aren’t there.

Do you think Delaware has a chance at a second seat in 10 years? And would we want it? Is there any way to fairly split the state that doesn’t produce one liberal and one moderate/conservative district?
I hope not. It would mean that Sussex County had grown to even more unmanageable proportions.
Well, we are the state with the highest population that still has 1 rep, so it’s certainly possible. The state would only have to grow 10% in a decade and it’s done that plenty of times before, often far far more than that. I’d just be interested in how the two districts would be drawn. Right at the canal? A little south, around Townsend or so?
Well, 21 House districts lie above the canal, so the dividing line has to be pretty close to it.
