Kelloggs Drops “Kelloggs” from Pop-Tart Boxes

Filed in National by on December 20, 2021
On Friday, Kellogg’s confirmed online rumors that it has removed its name from Pop-Tarts boxes. The move comes amidst a months-long strike involving about 1400 workers across four cereal plants, but Kellogg’s says the design decision is about “simplified” design, not a last-ditch effort to get around consumer boycotts (hmm).  Via BoingBoing

I scanned a list of Kellogg’s products and was surprised to find we didn’t use any, apart from a box of stale Carr’s crackers in the pantry (thanks for reminding me to throw them out). There really are a lot of better and cheaper substitutes for any Kellogg’s product. So my Kellogg’s boycott continues.

Boycotts work, and to support it you literally have to do nothing, making it easy to participate. Thrilled by the resurgence of labor, it is long overdue.

I read somewhere that people were applying for Kellogg’s replacement worker jobs and then ghosting the interview, just to clog up recruiting. Sounds like a good tactic. Maybe best to use a fake name/email so you don’t get put on some national blacklist the next time you need a real job.

I also heard that some people were taking the scab jobs to go in and fuck shit up. Great if true, but it is a little hard to believe. Kellogg’s would have to be hiring in total panic mode.
