Polio vaccine trials begin
On April 26, 1954, the Salk polio vaccine field trials, involving 1.8 million children, begin at the Franklin Sherman Elementary School in McLean, Virginia. Children in the United States, Canada and Finland participated in the trials, which used for the first time the now-standard double-blind method, whereby neither the patient nor attending doctor knew if the inoculation was the vaccine or a placebo.
One year later, on April 12, 1955, researchers announced the vaccine was safe and effective and it quickly became a standard part of childhood immunizations in America.

The French Southern territories are some islands off Madagascar and very remote islands in the southern Indian Ocean. The flag is cool but likes looks slightly fascist and something I imagine Jean-Marie Le Pen would use as the national flag when she comes to power.
Flags are back! Show that to some MAGA head and they’ll think it’s the Antifa sign.
Count me among the rubes who think all the folks working to hold the former guy and his family to account will achieve some significant reckoning.
Justice for all they did to our country is unobtainable, of course, but I’m happy there are plenty of people ready to hound them to the end of the legal system. And that will at least cost them real money.
Trump in prison is probably a fantasy, delectable as it is, but Trump testifying under oath will certainly be fascinating.
