‘Bulo’s Fave Tunes: August 2022

I cull the wheat from the chaff so that you don’t have to.  Sit back, relax. The Master knows what He’s doing:

Wonder if I can get this guy on a double-bill with Catbite at the Gild Hall…:

This haunting footage was recorded just days before the Great San Francisco Earthquake Of 1908.  Have I mentioned that I love Cass McCombs?:

Allison and Brandi have put this out as a single, with all the proceeds going to great causes.  I saw Allison at a music fest in Mass. just a couple of months ago.  An inspirational performer with a huge heart. The sheer joy in this video gives me the chills:

Reminds me of NRBQ. Meaning, will this be Nathan Arizona’s Fave Of The Month?  My money’s on The Beths, but there’s only one person who cashes that winning ticket every month…sadly, for his sake, rarely at the track:

Steve Lacy–Ex-Void–2nd Grade for the trifecta. Always a sucker for jazzy, atmospheric neo-soul and airy power pop. I like the Beths song but downgraded it for the longish non-musical break. That one with Patrick Stewart is interesting.

I love the Beths. My 22 year old son says it all sounds like the credit music for some Disney TV show. But fuck that guy.

Jason, I’m just curious. What kind of music does your son like?

    • Jason330 says:

Being 22 he has had access to all of recorded music for most of his life. He has taken advantage of that and has very eclectic tastes.

I noticed that identity for kids isn’t as tied up in music as it used to be. When I was in HS you kinda had to pick a team and that was that.

El Som – re: Patrick Stewart. I forgot to hit the irony button. But I’m happy you posted that song.
