I’m not in the 14th since redistricting, but Hoffner is doing what I try to tell all democrats to do – be prepared to run twice or even three times.
She came in 2nd in a three way primary which was won easily by the aged incumbent, Bruce Ennis. With the retirement of Ennis, Hoffner is now well positioned to keep the seat Democratic.
The other day called this a possible pick-up for the R’s. That was bullshit. There have been so many races in which the Dem nominee from my RD has underperformed that I guess I had frankly checked-out a little on the comings and goings in the 14SD and the 9RD. Sorry about that.

This really demonstrates the value of being prepared to run twice. I’m thinking about Cotto and the fact that Deb Hef (no matter how many awards chemical companies, and Big Pharma want to lavish on her) might have real qualms about even running again given the amount of work she had to do to hold on by the skin of her teeth this time.
True. But Becca put over a year of her life into that campaign. She will need, and deserves, time to reflect on that. I don’t think there was anything she could have done differently.
Unless Deb miraculously gets better, the seat could be Becca’s for the taking in 2024.
I lived in that district for most of my life, and I know that she can win. It will take a lot of work, but a pro-worker candidate like Kyra can absolutely succeed. Let’s get her the support she needs!

Kyra is a very personal candidate with a sense of humor even. She knows the issues and even worked on a lot of issues that benefit all people and evidence of that was when she did loads of work for the league of Women voters. She is in position to ad acrown Jewell to the state Senate. I’m going to do what I can, “door knock” and text message for her.
