It’s the ides of Feb.  And I have to sadly admit that I let my Highlands Bunker listening lapse while took all the football talk into my earholes.  (FTR, the sports talk all boils down to “nobody knows nothing” so that was a bloody waste of time.). Anyway, which of these should be prioritized above the others?

Haneef Salaam joins Rob in the bunker to talk about Wilmington’s new reparations taskforce, how the national response to Tyre Nichols relates to Delaware, and some incredibly dumb national stories.

Show Notes:

A brief history lesson on how Delaware became a state of its own back in the 18th century.

State Senator Laura Sturgeon joins Rob and Kirsten in the bunker to talk about her path from teacher to legislator, updates on lead in school water, and what she’s looking to do around education reform in the future.

I just listened to the Laura Sturgeon episode last night. As an early test case for the Drew Seres/Newtwork Delaware campaign training, it is comforting to know that her progressivism is deep and not something picked up just because Delaware voters are in search of progressive candidates.

An hour after her office released an official communication stating Senator Diane Feinstein of California would not seek re-election, Senator Feinstein stated she was not ready to make that decision. This could be anything from an honest mistake to a forgetful Senator.

So far the press release on her website that says she is not running is still up.

    Go Katie!

Huh. Anybody else have comments show up on one browser but not another? I see the hand of Lappy! In this mystery.

Still no word on my invite onto Mic’d Up with Mike Smith

Loved the episode. Had not heard of Dubard McGriff before so had to google him.

Shout out to all of the Del. reformers working to get momentum going to make a difference at leg hall this year.

Plus, I loved hearing about the collab with Syl. Syl Woolford is a great friend of mine since we partnered up to investigate numerous wrongs in the local criminal justice system in the mid-2000s. Syl flies over and under the radar and doesn’t mind being right in the spotlight either.
