International court issues war crimes warrant for Putin
The International Criminal Court issues arrest warrants for Russian president Vladimir Putin and Russian official Maria Lvova-Belova for the abduction of children from Ukraine.
And closer to home…
- Former President Donald Trump will follow the normal procedure in surrendering to face criminal charges if indicted by a Manhattan grand jury, his lawyer said.
If any Putin supporters from the GOP want to argue that this is hypocrisy from the ICC because they never issues arrest warrants for for Bush, Cheney or Rumsfeld – I would agree with that criticism.
It will be interesting to see if they can organize protests this quickly. There have been lots of “protests” over the Trump era that they could have held in a room at the Holiday Inn. And I don’t mean a banquet room.
If the turnout tracks with CPAC turnout, maybe a baker’s dozen ?
BTW – Calling for protests and threatening prosecutors is text-book obstruction of justice. I don’t suppose that will be taken up by Garland.
Kind of interesting that the GOP worked so hard to keep Garland off SCOTUS. Seems like they needn’t have bothered.
So Trump is contradicting his lawyers about turning himself in. Related – anyone who signs up to be Trump’s lawyer deserves nothing but pain and woe.
