Well… Shit went down. I should have put in some links to it here but didn’t. Oh wait. Here is something.
Listen: In audio recording, Trump heard discussing sensitive Iran document
Trump now says that he was waving pages he cut out of of Highlights Magazine while speaking.
and this
McBride Raises $315,000 in 12 hours
That’s a huge haul. It’s one of the largest first day hauls (and remember, Sarah announced at 8 am, so we are not even at a full day yet) that many national politicos have ever seen. For reference, when the Vermont At Large seat opened up in 2022, the eventual primary winner there impressed everyone when she raised $150,000 in 24 hours. Sarah doubled that in 12 hours. In 2016, in Delaware, the Democratic candidates (Townsend, LBR, Barney) raised between $120,000 to $215,000 their entire first quarter.
So this is impressive nationally, and astonishing and record-breaking locally.
Re: Sarah McBride’s Haul: 75 of those who read our article yesterday then clicked on her website link.
Like I said: ‘Shock and awe’. I think Jason is right when he said that other prospective candidates might be rethinking what they’re gonna do in 2024.
A nice article with Vox’s Christian Paz with Sen. McBride: https://www.vox.com/2024-elections/23774689/sarah-mcbride-trans-delaware-congress
“I believe that it is critical that the United States fill out the gaping hole in our social safety net by ensuring that every family has a cradle-through-career support system for their children, that lowers costs for families, improves outcomes for young people, and makes our society more competitive and compassionate.
“That starts with paid leave. It continues through affordable child care and universal pre-K. It means better investments into our public schools, and of course, support for students who are either going on to two- or four-year college, or vocational training, or directly into the workforce.
“That, to me, is one of the most important economic and moral issues of our time.”
She also hit the local channels you civilized people up North don’t even get:

Day-yum!
I wanted to learn more about Moms for Liberty, and I found there is an extraordinarily detailed wikipedia page which breaks down all their right-wing activities, with citations:

DeSantis basically calls for a final solution on the immigrant question:
“I have listened to people in D.C. for years and years and years, going back decades — Republicans and Democrats — always chirping about this yet never actually bringing the issue to a conclusion.”
Mussolini to Trump’s Hitler.
Other then their cheap, uncomplaining and strong work ethic the Republicans hate the migrants, even as farmers, construction, food service and agriculture depend on them. Now the farmers are in full howl mode as Florida’s politicians drive the migrants from the state (Following teachers, doctors, gays etc.). Florida is going to learn a lesson they already knew as DeSantis repeats Reagan’s dire prediction of “crops rotting in the field”. Have always heard that boycotting a state was near impossible, cue the music, I’m ready to try.
I’m not in favor of an unwritten policy to look the other way while employers illegally hire people who aren’t allowed to work here. That is a recipe for exploitation and downward wage pressure in the legal job market
Make them legal, whether with citizenship, or a seasonal worker program, but with full rights and protections. Then see if employers still want to pay them. My bet is they will seek to fill those jobs illegally instead with any remaining
illegalunauthorized workers.HUGE sigh of relief: Supreme Court rejects ‘the theory that state legislatures have almost unlimited power to decide the rules for federal elections and draw partisan congressional maps without interference from state courts.’

That three of the Justices even signed on to this wackadoodle theory is bonkers. When something is too crazy even for Kavanaugh and Barrett, you know it’s way off the deep end.
