Bond Bill brinksmanship is bullshit. They had a golden opportunity to shut down that shit forever and didn’t.
The simple explanation is the right one – Democratic Party leadership likes pretending that the withered rump of the GOP still has some sway because it gives them a lot of cover on the corporate bullshit they love to push through.
That was always Pete’s playbook and it is, no doubt, going to be on or close to page 1 of Valormimi’s playbook.
Like an episode of the original star trek where kirk is divided into his ego and id, democrats and republicans. The squishy ego cannot survive w/o the savagery of the id. Dems need to adapt to the savagery to manage it. A good start would be to acknowledge savagery’s existence.
