Hypocrisy thy name is Burris
Get a load of this…
“Like I said before, failure to call the Governor out on the carpet for this is tantamount to aiding and abetting.”
How rich is that?
A guy who voted for Bush TWICE and would proudly do so again in spite everything we now know, is talking about aiding and abetting…
It would be funny if it were not so freaking disgusting. Great Grandpa Burris is not happy today.
UPDATE: For the record I think Dave’s charge that Markell was burrising* is nonsense driven by his desire to see Levin break 40% in the general election.
*Burrising (v) to aid and abet.
That is a good one. If silence in the face of wrong doing is aiding and abetting, then the whole GOP needs to see jail time.
I’m not an elected public official with a responsibility to the people who elected me.
I also haven’t been silent.
A responsibility to the people who do the electing?
What state does that happen in?
Right. That’s why we keep reading on your blog about how bad Bush is.
Please. From now on I am going to call aiding and abetting Burrising
Please, J. I called on a Republican to resign when no one else would.
Take your weak crap somewhere else.
So, you can call it Markelling or Carneying, but that’s about it.
Atkins again!!!
Man that card has been played so much it is see through.
Don’t you have one other instance to point to?
One?
That card has been played?!?!?!
Piss off.
Your being scared of Levin or pissed off because your Governor is a waste of space and your candidates are allowing the state to run into the ground is not my fault.
So go be an absolute jackass on somebody else.
Pissed off describes you – on account of your BS being exposed.
I don’t blame you for trying to score some points against Markell (you better to avoind Jan Ting like numbers) – but the “aiding and abetting line” was/is laughable comming from you.
If you can come up with one elected Republican (other than Atkins) that you’ve been critical of – I’m all ears.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, Dave. You calling Ruthy MY candidate? That’s downright insulting.
Hell, yeah, I’m pissed off. Writing that Atkins letter was HARD. I don’t need to justify myself to you or anyone else.
You’re attacking the messenger because you can’t deal with the message. It’s what your side does when they have nowhere to go.
“If you can come up with one elected Republican (other than Atkins) that you’ve been critical of – I’m all ears.”
Sen. Ted Stevens
Rep. Mike Castle
Rep. Ken Calvert
Vice President Dick Cheney
The Entire US House GOP Leadership Team
The State House Leadership
I may be in the minority, but I would be remiss if I were silent on the fact that the Atkins letter DID restore my faith that some genuine good and brave people were Republicans. May I add here, Jud is another one.
But Jason is correct to link the Democrats complacence with the Minner administration to the republican’s whitewash of the Bush administration.
The knife cuts both ways. Both analogies are appropriate…….
Yeah, but Jason is saying that me as a party official, who by definition is responsible for being a “party hack,” and Markell/Carney, who are responsible to their constituents, should be held to the same standard. I disagree.
The fact that the head of his party (now mine) is largely incompetent mirrors your situation in regards to Minner. Your attempt to tarnish Dave with the BushBrush smacks of desperation.
He seems to be an honorable man and your attack on him is so weak it makes you look bad.
Dave: It isn’t a fair intellectual fight between you and Jason. You mop him up at every turn. Anyone who’s even remotely honest knows this.
J — Are you going to pull my comment out of moderation?
Hypocrisy, thy name is jason330
Aren’t you interested in looking into this problem? After I alerted you first, I emailed this info to other in state bloggers:
I’m writing to you to see if you’ll help spread this message. I’ve dropped comments on DELiberal, DE Watch, and written a letter to the NJ Editor but nobody has picked up on this so far.
The Secretary of State of CA has DECERTIFIED the voting machines in that state and is advising everyone to request an absentee ballot for their upcoming presidential primary.
Here’s the link from Brad blog regarding the CA voting machine issues.
http://www.bradblog.com/?p=4940#more-4940
This link shows that the same machines are being used in DE:
http://uspolitics.about.com/od/elections/l/bl_evoting_states.htm
I seem to remember a couple of months ago an article in the NJ quoting our retiring elections commish who said these machines could “never” be tampered with and were totally “secure”.
I believe it is highly unlikely that the NJ will print my letter. So, what can we do? Might there be some progressive organization that could fund a full page add in the NJ that would tell people in our state that they are voting on seriously flawed machines?
You probably have the time and the resources to peek further into the DE situation and help raise awareness of the problem.
If you need any more info or links I find to other sources on the subject, just let me know.
thanks,
jim center
This is a cross post with something I left over at FSP.
It bears repeating! And for the record, I NEVER voted for Bush…
——————————
Let’s be real clear on this — Jack Markell is as closely nestled to the Minner Adminstration as anyone. In fact, for quite some time he attended monthly Cabinet meetings with all of the other Minner appointees (a practice started in the waning days of the Carper Adminstration). He may still be going but I’m honestly not sure she has them anymore.
He was only too happy to jump at each and every appointment to Minner’s task forces including the Information Services Task Force, the Procurement Task Force, etc. Read his campaign materials carefully — he never misses an opportunity to talk about what great things he did as a Minner appointee.
Knowing Jack — and I do — I have no doubt he’ll turn around bite the hand that he kissed for so long. He is an opportunist of the first order. It’s only a metter of time…
He seems to be an honorable man and your attack on him is so weak it makes you look bad.
He is honorable and I’ve said as much right here – but he has a BIG blind spot and he is getting a little ruffled at my bringing to his attention.
I get that Atkins was a big deal – but don’t hid behind it when he knows full well he should ahve been speaking out about Bush.
You too Hube, you low life. What have you done about Bush?
Okay then.
Comment approved. I have to admit that I forgot about you jumping on the anti-calvert bandwagon. That Cheney post…ouch that was a real smack down. And this…
Let me start by saying this: Mike Castle is an excellent congressman
Oh boy, I bet he is still smarting over that one.
But who is missing from that list? Who could it be? Let’s see who would a party hack like Dave continue to support out of party loyalty despite the fact that this person turned out to be a complete incompetent nit wit?
Who…?
Help me out Dave.
wow Dave, way to step up and be critical of other elected officials outside the state.
woooppeeeee!
and you say that letter to write about Atkins was HARD? ooohhhh wahhhhh, he was my friend and I liked him so it was harrrdddd to write a letter asking for a wife beating, drunk driving power flaunting friend to step down.
I remember reading something about “the company you keep” but alas I just criticize and call names.
I’m writing a letter asking A FRIEND AND POLITICIAN TO DO THE RIGHT THING. it’s soooo hardddd wahhhhh, now give me props for doing it pleaseeeeeee.
OHHHHH POOOR YOU, IT WAS SOOOOO HARD.
so pathetic.
Seems donviti is bitter at being on the wrong end of debates too often.
Face it, dv. You’re a butter knife and I’m a machete. And that ain’t changin’.
I’d allow you to call me pathetic if your opinion, on anything, mattered.
Back to your hole.
wahhhh hard to write a letter about a wife beating drunk driving friend that abused his power while in office.
wahhhhhhh
I know it’s hard to do what’s right dave, but I promise you it gets easier the more you do it.
See what I mean, folks?
Nothing.
You too Hube, you low life.
I’d rather be a “lowlife” than an uneducated, monosyllablic automaton.
What have you done about Bush?
A lot more on my blog than you have excoriating Democrats for their misgivings, that’s for damn sure.
