Joe Biden Jabs “Happy” Al Levin at Beach Jamboree

Filed in National by on August 27, 2007

UPDATE: Read Delaware Dems’ Kos Diary for the journalism. If you read Celia’s read it for the entertainment value of hearing her compare Biden’s face to a “painting by Rembrandt.”

DelDem’s Bottom Line: The tea leaves say that Biden is out of the Senate when a Democrat becomes President. That will mix things up a bit.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

I read Celia so you don’t have to.

If he (Biden) moved up, he teased, maybe the primary for governor could sort itself out.

“I’ve never seen so much talent in the Democratic Party, ready to lead the state. If I get the nomination, who knows, it may settle the governor’s race,” he quipped.

Get it? Carney or Markell would replace him in the Senate and the other would be the next Governor. Now I ask you, is that any way to treat a guy who is setting up a big fundraiser for you? I should say not.

BTW – There is some other interesting Markell/Carney stuff in CeeCee’s homage to Biden. I’ll be getting back to that.

“Because Lord knows, whichever Democrat wins, we’ll have some tough issues to deal with, and I’m not just talking about prison health care and the Delaware Psychiatric Center,” Markell said, mentioning the economy, the schools and the rising cost of health care. “This is what democracy is all about. This is what our country is all about. We as a people benefit from dialogue and debate.”

Mr. Markell and you sat back and watched it all go to hell and no you want to bring us back to heaven. You are no saint and I doubt the Nextel Kid can deliver on this one.

“Then Carney staked his claim. “I’m here tonight to tell you that I’m ready. I’m ready to be the governor of the state,” he said. “I’ve learned a few things about what it takes to be governor watching Tom and Ruth Ann. One of the most important things I’ve learned is the value of leadership.”

John Carney if you plans are to take what you learned from Carper and Minner then we don’t want you ! Go away !

Well Joe “ready to lead the state” dam you would think they would know how after 8 years of Carper and 7 of Minner!

I wonder if Spivack who thought primaries are immoral in 06 will suddenly embrace them as good for the party if Bullock gets in the race.
