Missouri Sen. Eric Schmitt had it all set up to charge Jack Smith with lying to Congress. He made up a poster, the kind you slapped together for a class project in 8th grade, linking Smith to – gasp! – Black people in Atlanta, to demonstrate that Smith was up to nefarious skulduggery in an attempt to frame Donald Trump. Schmitt even planted a story with Axios about how JD Vance liked him so much he’d probably be on the 2028 GOP ticket.
And then it all fell apart. Because MAGAts are too lazy to do the most basic research, they, or the AI they undoubtedly used, had confused the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks with the University of Iowa’s women’s basketball Hawkeyes. Smith wasn’t in Atlanta at all (and so what if he was?). He was in Maryland, and there’s TV screenshots that prove it.
The collapse of Schmitt’s perjury trap fell apart on live TV, producing videos that will live in infamy. Schmitt, confirming his craven stupidity, is refusing to admit he fucked up, thereby Streisand Effecting the entire incident. Have fun down there in the trashbin of history, asshole.
