Republicans Unveil Their Budget Plan… Or Not
Tax cuts for the rich? Check.
What? Were you expecting more? Apparently so were reporters…
“Two nights ago, the president said, ‘We haven’t seen a budget yet out of Republicans.’ Well, it’s just not true, because here it is, Mr. President,” said House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio), waving a blue document in the air.
“Today we’re introducing a detailed road-to-recovery plan,” he told the reporters. Other than the tax proposal, however, the plan was absent any details. Instead, it hammered the Democratic budget as too expensive.
Reporters — mainstream, liberal and conservative — greeted the Republican document with a collective scoff.
“Are you going to have any further details on this today?” the first asked.
“On what?” asked Boehner.
“There’s no detail in here,” noted the reporter.
kos has the best compilation video of the anxiously awaiting press, and it’s just as we predicted. Republicans got nothing.

Boehner – what? really? Hmm. I wish I had read the thing before I came out here.
This is sooooo embarrassing. They aren’t the opposition party, they just play one on TV.
I loved that newsreader’s reaction — she was really pissed off. And so she should have been. No plan — even Herbert Hoover would have been embarrassed to pull that shit. Thank goodness a couple of reporters know what a budget looks like.
Under the Republican plan, the top marginal tax rate would be slashed from 35 to 25 percent…
What – no capital gains tax cut?
This, I think, qualifies as a masturbatory fantasy. They do realize we have a Democratic president now, don’t they?
No wonder the Republicans are complaining about the president doing too much. They are having a hard time doing just one thing, the poor dears.
The story is getting even better… they are now in disarray over that piece of crap presentation.

I’m surprised they didn’t try to introduce the flat tax.
OMG that video was funny. The Republicans were trying to prove they aren’t the party of no by criticizing Obama’s budget.
