   Odd numbered limited access intra/inter-states run north & south.

   Don’t know a damn thing about state highways…wouldn’t be surprised if they pull number from a hat (or their coulo).

   for the state, odd run north to south. 1, 13, 15, 113, etc. There aren’t many North/SSouth routes down here, Interstate 13 and 113 take care of most of it. 113 eventually meets up with 13 again, completing the bypass in Pokomoke, Md.

   State evens run east to west, numbering the lowest from the north and heading south, in kent and sussex, for example, you can see the grid on the map. rt 10 through camden, rt 12 through felton, rt 14 through harrington to milford, rt 16 from greenwood through milton, rt 18 through bridgeville to georgetown, rt 20 through seaford, rt 24 through laurel to long neck, rt 26 through ocean view, rt 30 through the countryside north of delmar.

   Anomolies: Rt 9 in Sussex county is an interstate highway, continuing across the lewes ferry into New Jersey. Del Rt 9 runs north to south along the coastline from Delaware City to the Air Force Base.

   Rt 54 on Line Road in Delmar through Fenwick Island is a continuation of Maryland’s Rt 54, since the road is literally split down the yellow line.
