Quote Of The Day

But one of the things I’ve actually been encouraged by—and I learned during the campaign—was the American people, I think, not only have a toleration but also a hunger for explanation and complexity, and a willingness to acknowledge hard problems. I think one of the biggest mistakes that is made in Washington is this notion you have to dumb things down for the public.

President Barack Obama

Refreshing, isn’t it?

My comment may seem as if I don’t think he’s engaged thus far, he sure has but I am a wait and see type of critic on promises like this….

One of the tough things about this President is that so very much is expected from him and he stepped into office having to fix the mess of the previous guys. Which isn’t to say that he won’t disappoint (and has on occasion), but it is hard to remember that he has been in office for only 5 months.

And I do like that he speaks in complex sentences and paragraphs, and largely doesn’t resort to shorthand and codewords.

4 months. It will be 4 months the 20th. I would agree that very few of the problems so far are his. He just hasn’t been in long enough. He is creating his own legacy which will either doom him or promote him. The debt, national security decisions, energy policy, car companies, and mortgage program are all his decisions. It is too early to know how this will turn out.

The man has come at a tough time to say the least and all who are so inclined should pray for wisdom for him daily. What is the right decision is not always clear. We all benefit if he chooses wisely.
