Markell Vs. Carney Primary Fails to Thrill Republicans

Filed in National by on January 13, 2008

Oh how the DEGOP prayed for a bloodbath (very Republican that).

Anyway, by now it is obvious to everyone that Markell vs. Carney will be settled on the ground and on the issues.  Not through the Republican “cage match” method which is a zero sum game that leaves one “winner” and two angry factions.
No.  Everywhere you go you only hear positive things about both Democratic candidates.  So whoever wins will pick up most of the other’s supporters the very next day.  That was the primary I had hoped for and that is the primary we are getting.

Well done Jack!

Good work John!

Keep it up guys.  The only thing I like better than happy Democrats is sad Republicans.

Of course it’s nicey-nice. Not one ad run yet. Not one debate. Just Markell saying “I have more money than you,” which was necessary for him because he is going to have to outspend since he won’t out-organize Carney.

I think we’d know by now.

But keep thinking happy thoughts Rick & Dave. Keep your fingers crossed for the machete fight. It is your only hope – and a very slim hope at that.

The GOP wishes for a Dem bloodbath certainly fit with the spirit of our recent holiday season. I wonder how the GOP handles these internal struggles itself? How was the 14th District GOP Senate candidate selection? Anyone get shit upon? Think the Protack vs. Levin primary will reduce Levin’s hope to get 20% in the general election?

I don’t usually play this card, but Jason, you’re relatively new to this. RickJ, who ran a Bill Lee blog and probably worked for the campaign, and I have been down this road.

There has not been a competitive primary in Delaware that has been anything but bloody.

And you have, by my last count, four of them.

    Have fun.
