Big Shock: Fox News Lies
Has Faux News finally gone too far for the media to ignore? (Yeah, I know, wishful thinking.) Fox took out ads in the Washington Post, New York Times andWall Street Journal accusing the media (including WaPo, NYT, CNN and others) of not covering the Fox-organized and Fox-promoted 9/12 protest in Washington. Rick Sanchez begs to differ. Sanchez calls out Fox News in no uncertain terms. Sanchez to Fox News: “You Lie!”
I suppose Fox gets away with doing this because their viewers don’t generally look at other media. I think it’s causing a real problem when people are operating under two different sets of facts. I just hope Sanchez is starting a trend. The traditional media has been scared to challenge the rightwing extremist and risk being called “liberal.” I hope the media is learning that it doesn’t matter how much you give into them, they’ll lie about you anyway.
FOX is simply employing standard intimidation tactics. It’s standard tea bagger procedure. Sanchez is a breath of fresh air.
When the first patriot fires the first shot at a town hall meeting and brings down some so-called “innocent bystander” it is going to be like the first shot fired at Lexington and Conrad. It will be a signal to other patriots to rise from in front of the TV and take the revolution directly to Rick Sanchez and other illegal Mexicans welfare state teet suckers.
And you liberals will be crying because the true patriots will have taken the country back from Barry the Nubian usurper, and there will be no more tax payer funded abortion clinics in schools teaching our kids how to be homosexuals while they smoke the bong pipe in the waiting room.
Sarcasm is sometimes difficult to pull off, though I think mike x did a pretty good job.
Back on subject, and I speak from a limited professional experience in journalism. Most journalist are taught ethics in college and actually are concerned about presenting the facts in their article or news report.
From what I have seen (and this is extremely limited), Fox News is not concerned about ethics.
“We COVERED the event. We didn’t PROMOTE the event.”
Checkmate, indeed.
They are simply trying to draw attention away from the failure of the event and change the subject. At best there was 100,000 in DC, and based on the images and videos I have seen, I think that is probably high. It seems rather desperate, but then again, that seems to be the state of the GOP. And it doesn’t hurt to keep pushing the liberal media nonsense. When you lose, just blame the media. It’s easier than addressing the real issues and real problems facing the GOP and the radical elements within their party. Most Americans just don’t want to be associated with these wackos and most Americans see it for what it is.
However, as a PR stunt, it ingenious. When you have the other networks talking about you, you’ve won a round.
In other news today, Russia said it will scrap a plan to deploy missiles near Poland since Washington has dumped a planned missile shield in Eastern Europe. It also harshly criticized Iran’s president for new comments denying the Holocaust. hmmmm.
Obama’s foreign policy moves seem to be paying dividends. The last thing we needed was another cold war (or worse) with Russia. And why the Bush admin was pushing a shield in Poland before the US was like attacking Iraq for 9/11. It made no sense. Diplomacy and clear thinking is always a better option.
Mike X: Lexington and Conrad?
So, last night I had occasion to visit Over Coffee, the newish coffee shop in Lantana Square, Hockessin. They have at least six huge flat screen TV’s and they were all broadcasting Glen Beck. I asked the barrista why Glen Beck and he explained that his boss loves Fox News and they always have Fox on.
If you ever find yourself craving a cup of coffee in the Hockessin area you might want to go to Brew Ha Ha. I left Over Coffee in a state of drooling shock.
Rebecca, a coffee shop with TV? Music in a coffee shop, everyone knows that.
You are so right nemski!
While I was waiting to meet my friend, I wandered into a little alcove they’ve got set up there with book cases filled with well-read volumes and a couple of leather sofas — it looked so inviting, and you couldn’t see all the five-foot wide Glen Beck heads from there. The books were all right-wing screeds. And lots of religiosity.
Clearly ‘The Other’ has set up HQ in Hockessin. If I hadn’t been meeting someone I’d have run screaming from the building. Instead, I came home and spit out pea soup
And my head keeps swiveling around 360 degrees. What’s that about?
I’m surprised a business owner would play such politically controversial things in his business. Even people who are in the Beck cult have to know he’s controversial.
Perhaps this guy isn’t interested in succeeding as a business. ?? There’s a tax loop hole here somewhere.
Controversial? I only go to coffee shops with Glenn Beck on the TV and (probably) urine in the coffee.
Urine in coffee…..Hmmmmm……do they need some part-time help. I can see myself now, “Are you here to watch Glen Beck? Well, I’ve got some special brew for you!” ….That settles it I’ll work for free!!!!!
Rebecca – You actually LEFT a coffee shop because they had a non-liberal news channel on the TV? You take politics WAY too seriously.
