Kowalko on WDEL Calling Out Delmarva Lies

Filed in National by on February 26, 2008

I knew those ads that Delmarva Power is running on WDEL were a pack of lies.   Kowalko has the goods.

Calling Delmarva and Copeland out on their lies is important but what is the next step?  What should people who want to stop the Tony DeLuca/Harris McDowell/Charlie Copeland obstruction of the wind project.

On a related note, the Blue Water Ads on WDEL are weak.  There is no clear “call to action.”  Anyone listening might be moved by the argument – but so what?  What next?

Anyone?

  1. It might be helpful to provide a link to a podcast of the details.

  2. Brian says:

What is the Spanish word for straightjacket? Whatever it is that is what is needed for those who think wind power is such a terrible idea. Maybe that and a rubber room.

  3. liz allen says:

Check the phantom corporate masters at the Delaware Public Policy Institute. Talk about cigar smokin back filled rooms…these corporate cats have their ugly corporate paws in every phase of human life in Delaware!

Time for the citizens to call them out, expose them for who they are….corporations overuling every good government, citizen coalition, in this State.

As Charles Potter Jr, city councilman stated, there are people using cardboard from grocery stores to keep them seleves warm. There were at last count over 33,000 citizens who are in arrears and/or shut off from services.

Meanwhile back at the corporate ranch of DPL, they gave their corporates big bonus, their stockholders made out like the modern day robber barrons of the past.

When are the citizens going to wake up and take this to the streets! How much more will you take….we need to organize, mobilize and march on Dover with the publics demands.

  4. NO Bluewater says:

Wind power is a great idea.

Bluewater Wind as the providing company is not.

    Ask around.

We need bids from other companies.

Geez….did you guys marry the first girl, too?

  5. Brian says:

    Liz,

Do not take to the streets. the DHS operation Endgame could have you jailed for doing so. I posted on it a while ago, and it scares the shit out of me. I hope Delaware Dems have the balls to resist the draconian parts of it.

  6. Brian says:

Want to have the Administration really scare you read this:

    http://www.fas.org/irp/agency/dhs/endgame.pdf

And a brief critique from the American perspective:

    1. I don’t appreciate them naming local PD’s as partners in their little gestapo paper. I will fight any inclusion of local law enforcement in immigration enforcement. That is the federal govt’s job.

    2. I have a real problem with contracted facilities operated by private individuals. If the fed govt. is going to detain illegals let them do it at federal institutions.

    3. That has got to be some of the most wiggle room language ever written. That shit can be intrepreted just about any way you want.

    4. I really got nervous when they mentioned that this is just a continuation of the alien and sedition acts.

I’m just waiting to see when american citizens start spending time in these confinemtent facilities.

Lovely guys. Lovely. Why not just dig the giant european ditches. These European power politick ideas are not healthy for our country.

  7. liz allen says:

Brian: thanks for the warning, but it appears that article has to do with immigration! I am not fearful of mobilizing , organizing the citizens to march on Dover for wind, single payer and other citizen issues. That activity is covered in the Constitution. We do still have one don’t we?

Organizing can be done through telephone calls, emails, and actually showing up at Legislative Hall to make our voices known.

The best is to run a good government candidate in every one of the races of those who continue to “oppose the citizens will”. If you want to run and don’t want to spend thousands to sign up as a dem or repub, you can always join the Independent Party of Delaware…see we really are a good government party, and we don’t charge you an outrageous fee just to be on the ballot. All a candidate has to do is support good governement well researched documented legislation.

  8. liz allen says:

The better question is the one raised by John Kowalko! Truth in Advertising! There is no question DPL is lying through their yellow corporate teeth!

Course corporate supportive WDEL wouldnt WDEL is paid for running that ad –ad naseum.

And since corporate WDEL prevents citizens from calling their station , one time per week for two shows…who is keeping your voice from being heard….WDEL! and its corporate Del State Chamber of Commerce1.

  9. Al Mascitti says:

Actually, we’re getting more calls now than before we instituted the policy. That means more voices are being heard. And nobody has had more pro-BWW guests on than I have, from the UD professors to John Kowalko.

  10. Tommy says:

    Liz-
People just don’t want to hear you screaming about how awful politicians are. Everyone in America knows politicians suck. Don’t take it out on WDEL for providing other peoples insight rather than just your own.

If you want to change it, then run for Gov.
