I really am weary of Sarah Palin, and am having trouble not thinking about Lindsay Lohan every time her name is mentioned, but what happened this weekend so encapsulates what this woman stands for. She didn’t finish the 5k run as promoted on her twitter account – She didn’t finish the race, opting to leave the course early to avoid more crowds at the end – and when asked about cooking a turkey for Thanksgiving Palin states that it’s simply “too much work.”

A politician avoiding crowds and dissing an American holiday? WTF? Actually, it makes sense. Sarah Palin is a lazy quitter. She’s personality driven along the lines of Paris Hilton, and for a group of people who screamed non-stop about Barack Obama’s “lack of experience” to now support someone who wears her ignorance as a badge of honor boggles the mind. But I guess “experience matters” is so 2008.
OMG, 5K is nothing for a runner. And remember, she’s fit enough to be on the cover of Runner’s World. Unless she got an injury, she should have just walked her way across the finish line if she was feeling winded. But I’m betting she blames the media for her decision to drop out.
Apparently the Quitta from Wasilla was not getting paid enough to actually finish this race. She probably remembered part way in that this race generated no revenue for her. And nor does cooking Thanksgiving dinner.
Paris Hilton, indeed: it’s tough to be a politician if you’re really most comfortable as a spoiled brat.

FWIW-Our nearly 10k population school district achieved a tad under 50% immunization rate thus far for students under the voluntary and free program. The high schools are being done this week–don’t know which way that will move the needle (oops, no pun intended).

Thanks for the tip, Jason. Goodness, he finished the ’07 race after breaking his metatarsal. That’s what happens when you don’t have a coach to pull you out. Turns out the author of DG ran the same race in credible time.
