The Great Big End of Year Polling Post

Filed in Delaware by on December 29, 2009

This has been a year of transition.  We saw in 2009 the first non-white President take office, markets came crashing down, jobs lost, political parties realigning themselves and lots of people angry about either what they want their government to give them or what they don’t want from government.  Blogs have sprung up and blogs have shut down and some have been reshuffled. An entire industry has departed Delaware, and new ones are showing some green shoots through the scarred landscape.

It has taken a lot to keep blogging this year.  It is easy to lose interest, lose hope, lose comaraderie among the small group of people that keep this little endeavor going in all parts of the political spectrum.  Personally, I believe that all of our lives are altered for the better through this alternative world with its own rules, values and tactics.  And I would like to thank all of our readers, contributors and “competitors” for keeping the Delaware blogosphere vibrant and self-renewing.

Excellent post, Geek. I would also add that Steve Newton’s relatively unnoticed retirement from the other DL is also a loss. Indeed, the loss of Newton, Matthews, and Garrett is felt across the blogosphere spectrum.

  2. xstryker says:

    2009 ate half our blogosphere.

  3. donviti says:

knowing nemski, I can hardly trust the results to any of these polls

  4. nemski says:

Instead of worrying about me, why don’t you go back to your website and post the Best of Donviti 2009?

  5. donviti says:

I’m not worrying about you. I know what you will do. I’m worried about the outcome of these polls. one in particular stands out cookie boy 🙂

  6. Von Cracker says:

i have it when former lovers bicker! 🙂

  7. liberalgeek says:

For the record, the polls have anti-freeping controls in two ways, so it doesn’t have too much to do with “cookies.” It is certainly freep-able, but not particularly easily.

  8. Von Cracker says:

    have? wtf – love.

    merry new year!

  9. Brooke says:

well, I am not informed enough on blogosphere politics to be able to vote on any of this. Which is just as well, I’m sure.

But I’m happy y’all are doing your thing here. It’s valuable to me.

  10. Delaware Dem says:

DV and Nemski lovers? Here’s to the new scandal of 2010!

  11. Delaware Dem says:

Thanks Brooke. We love our readers. Well, the sane ones, anyway.

  12. We like the insane ones to give us traffic as well.

  13. nemski says:

What a howl. DV is freeping the poll from Facebook.

  14. pandora says:

    You’re kidding, right?

  15. donviti says:

  16. nemski says:

No, pandora, I’m not kidding. What’s funny is that winning the poll for Rookie of the Year means so much to donviti, he’ll cheat to win at it.

  17. A. price says:

aww, nem. i voted for donviti. HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL. who is still drunk?

  18. nemski says:

    You are! 😉

I don’t care who anyone votes for, just glad you did. Okay, if you vote for Sarah Palin, you’re dead to me.
