Racists
Let me put it on the bottom shelf for you morons Clinton supporters:
“I’m not racists, but people will not vote for the black guy” = Racism
That’s been the Clinton line of attack since Super Tuesday. It is ALL SHE HAS. So all you Clinton supporters can go piss up a rope.
UPDATED: I had to change the title of the post after Al just gave us such lavish praise. (I have to think of the kids, don’t I?)
I’m not racist, but black people will not vote for the white guy/woman. Is this racism as well?
Can you give me an example… because I’ve been breathing in the racists bullshit that I mention above for months.
Yours strikes me as a hypothetical.
I have heard countless pundits on both sides claiming that the black vote is out of play and no longer up for grabs. I believe the most recent number was somewhere around 90% in favor of Obama. It is fairly clear that black voters are, in large numbers, voting along racial lines. I don’t see how it is fair to claim that a white candidate cannot win the black vote yet it is racist for the Clintons to suggest he cannot garner enough support from white voters in the general.
Huh?
Oh… Black people are racists. I get it. Well I’m not black but my mind has been clouded by my college degree – otherwise, I’d be a pure-hearted, hard working Clinton voter.
Hypotheticals? They have no place on the website of ‘who do you fire a missle at, a car ful of nuns or a truckload of human eggs?’.
There are racists who will not vote for Obama. There are sexists who wil not vote for Clinton. To recognize these situations is not a tacit support of either. To base your strategy on these situations might be.
I don’t think HRC is only offering her whiteness as a qualification, but if her supporters are, it’s sad.
Nice try in attempting to spin this around. You are the one claiming racism. I do not think black voters are racist at all. In fact, I think it is great to see such large numbers of black voters getting to the polls. What I am saying is that your whole premise is moot at best. To claim that white HRC supports are racist yet black Obama supporters are not is just plain are ridiculous. None of them are racist.
Look. Clinton has run a campaign based on race. Has Obama? Okay then.
BTW – I love these Republican Clinton supporters. Their dogged support for HRC speaks volumes.
Well said, Rick.
“Clinton has run a campaign based on race.”
Really? I thought is was based on “experience!”
“Has Obama?” That is highly debatable.
I love how you think I’m a Republican…not that there’s anything wrong with that.
I have heard countless pundits on both sides claiming that the black vote is out of play and no longer up for grabs.
Actually, the calulation here is that the black vote is out of play for Clinton right now, but if she were the nominee, black voters would flock back to her side since they have no other real choices. The so called “hard working white” voters are voting for Clinton (altho this is in Appalachia and does not work anyplace else) and it is claimed that these “hard-working” people do have an option to vote for McCain.
Certainly there are some white voters who won’t vote for Obama, but the real issue in the Clinton argument is that black voters ultimately don’t count — because they won’t vote for repubs in the first place AND (which you won’t hear them say) it is the easiest way to try to discount the Obama coalition which is, folks, overwhelmingly white.
And as for the so-called sexism that is supposed to be working against HRC — Allison Benedickt speaks for me.
I hate having this conversation. But I ask you when in the campaign a single Obama staffer or person close to the campaign (i.e. not a raving lunatic in your office) has suggested that Hillary can’t win in November because there are some people that won’t vote for a woman.
No one. People will vote for a woman. People will vote for a black man. It is a straw man to suggest otherwise. People didn’t vote for Obama because Hillary is a woman, they voted for him because they liked him and his ideas more. I know that it is difficult to say that the guy beat Hillary fair and square, but he did.
I felt the same way in 2000 and 2004.
Hey quick question, does Al mention “the blogs” or WNJ more often?
Sexism and racism are splinter tactics. When the nation’s survivability is on the line, neither really make much difference.
“There has never been an instance when black people vote for a qualified white candidate.”
Now switch the colors around.
Does this clarify the ‘rascism’ question for ya?
Jason –
You are a child and an ass. There’s no getting around it. Ironically, Barack Obama would likely not be proud of your tactics.
Much love,
Dom
Boo Hoo!
Sore loser crap I expected as much.
Yes, dear. Everyone who doesn’t agree with you is either a sore loser or a racist or both. *Yawn* Zzzzzzzz.
What’s next? I’m rubber, you’re glue?
“I’m not racists, but people will not vote for the black guy” = Racism
If the shoe fits…
If I were black, I don’t think I’d have voted for an Arkansas cracker.
And this may be the best coverage of this issue (local to Kentucky) you’ll see.
I know I will never vote for John “I hate Gooks” McCain.
OMG, Cass! The disconnect is amazing. That poor guy sitting in that run down trailor fearing that Obama will put him at the back of the bus?
Doesn’t he realize that bus has left the station and that guy’s not on it.
That’s right, Pandora.
That guy (and the many like him) are the reason why plenty of us think that the real American divide is economics and class now. We do still have our racial issues, but they are receding, while economic issues see to be getting more entrenched.
Jesus, it’s not a real newscast. Didn’t any of you find it weird that it was supposedly produced by Al Jazeera English? Do a little research. They’re a pro-Palestinian group. It’s no wonder they’d be doing a slam piece on Clinton. It should make you concerned that they’re so pro-Obama.
Please, people, try to be a little bit more skeptical about what you see on the internets. Jeez.
Not weird that it was produced by al-Jazeera, because it is pretty plain in their logo. Pretty weird that the best coverage of the issue comes from folks not from here. And really weird that you would be surprised to find an Arab TV network to be pro-Palestinian. And, I certainly did not see any Palestinians in that clip, but I guess impugning motives is all you got left here, yes?
