Beau Biden Released From Hospital
Beau Biden was released from the hospital today, according to press reports. The Delaware Department of Justice released this statement:
Attorney General Beau Biden returned home this afternoon from Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience, Department of Justice spokesman Jason Miller said.
Biden’s doctor, Dr. Robert Rosenwasser of Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience, made the following statement upon the Attorney General’s discharge:
“On the morning of Tuesday May 11, Attorney General Beau Biden suffered a minor stroke. Due to rapid triage, diagnosis, and institution of appropriate medical therapy, he is leaving Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience of Thomas Jefferson University neurologically normal.”
“I am pleased to report that the results of his final discharge general and neurological exam find his neurological status perfect in all arenas including motor skills, language function, and cognitive assessment. I am extremely pleased about his status as of discharge and have released him to assume full responsibilities as Attorney General after a brief period of rest at home.”
We wish him well in his recovery. Biden was hospitalized on Tuesday, May 11, so he’s spent 6 days in the hospital. Hopefully we’ll learn more now that Biden is out of the hospital.

Great
I think 4 days is about right.
Good news, and, hopefully enough to appease Geezer.
Hopefully we’ll learn more now that Biden is out of the hospital.
Somehow I don’t think so. When Castle had his strokes during the 2008 campaign there wasn’t much info about his condition and he was pretty much allowed (by the media) to drop mostly out of sight. I think I remember Jason330 having on about this, but I don’t remember so much speculative NJ coverage about Castle’s strokes, either.
No, sorry, AQC. And you still haven’t come up with an explanation — nor has anyone else — of why this isn’t the public’s business.
I have throughout this cited the Castle case as another example of a politician refusing to be honest about his health. That’s in contrast to how Joe handled his aneurysm problem — though IIRC, the details weren’t released immediately.
Don’t worry, the question will be asked once Beau is taking questions again.
What drives these people to sacrifice their health for power, prestige and notoriety ?
“Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac”-Henry Kissinger, who would have NEVER gotten laid without it.
AQC: Rosenwasser produced more information in the TNJ story that we have had so far: “Biden, 41, was taken by ambulance last week to Christiana Hospital with a headache, numbness and paralysis.”
So a week later, we learn of numbness and paralysis. But we don’t need to know any more. Please, please, don’t tell us!
wait till you here my stroke joke on the podcast later today!!!
it’s been a week and i’m bursting to get it off my chest!
We heard he was taken by ambulance and that he had symptoms of a stroke – that told me probable headache, numbness and paralysis. I maintain that I personally do not feel a need to know more than that of any public official. I don’t believe I have any more right to their private health information than they have to mine.
Stroke joke? Really?
You’re better than this, DV.
AQC: In other words, you filled in the blanks left by lack of information — exactly what they want you to do. And remember, last week we were told only about the headache, not the numbness or paralysis.
Why you are so incurious is, again, your own problem. It has no bearing on whether the public is or should be privy to the information.
Public officials have to make public their finances in a way private citizens do not. ARe you against that, too?
Yes, private finances are just that. They are not legally obligated to do so and need to stand up to the nosy ones. The disclosure ranges should not be public, but for special committees to monitor conflicts of interests. I would challenge the legality. We need to return to a focus on the issues not the distractions. That is why our government is so broken. That is why our jobs are going overseas, our financial institutions are drowning due to mark to market, our government is run by lobbyists, and government keeps breaking things then demanding power over more things. We allow the press to focus on tax returns and not the tax code. We focus on someone’s private health and not public health policy. We focus on toe tapping in a bathroom and not the very structure of society. We focus on a person’s net worth and not the national balance sheet. The war takes a back seat to a war of partisan tit for tat. We talk about how many homes a person owns and not about foreclosures, the credit crunch, and the manipulation of bankruptcy law.
No wonder America is on the wrong track.
