Just Wondering…

Filed in Delaware by on April 18, 2011

This weekend phone books were dropped off at my door.  Does anyone under 60 still use those big, bulky books? I hate the idea of just dumping them into the recycling bin… any other ideas?

For the love of skydad, stop dropping off the Pulposaurus!

They make GREAT sound proofing for drums and bass amps. Put a drum set on risers and a phone book under each leg… same with a little platform for a bass amp and bam. no more vibration transfer.

I soak them first…then drop them in the recycling bin. More weight, more points towards a Target gift card!

    😈

And, if you are over 60 you can’t read the darned things without a magnifying glass. Just useless all the way around.

For what it’s worth, I still use them occasionally and I’m 22. I can’t put all the phone numbers of restaurants like Cassapulas into my cell phone (because its directory doesn’t have enough space), so I still use Yellow Book to look up Charcoal Pit’s number to call for a pick up order.

Not to be a killjoy, but for SB’s project to make sense – every man woman and child in the United States would need to take up drumming THIS WEEK!

VC’s is more practical, but you’ll ultimately find that ill gotten Target Gift Card points have a one to one relationship with the number of demons that will be poking you in the ass for eternity.

That’s right! Target is on the shit list for unfair practices, or something like that.

I’ll get a gift card from Starbucks or Regal then!

I rip mine in half to keep my forearms looking like Popeye’s, my first hero.
Olive, my anorexic wife, squeals in delight.
That’s about it for our sex life.
Another reason for my large forearms.

  9. Miscreant says:

Speaking of “Target”, they make great backstops for target shooting.

I use my Yellow Pages occasionally — and some of the coupons are worthwhile. In my office, we use them ALOT to source services and materials in places where we are bidding work. There are places where the phone company is getting permission to NOT print the residential phone books anymore, but don’t know if they’ll stop with the yellow pages. But I do want to know whether they’ll stop charging you monthly not to be listed in the residential phone book once it disappears from your town.

  11. I throw mine in the recycling bin.

A holiday meal wouldn’t be complete without some kid boosted up to the table by way of the phone book(s). I know, I know, I am putting myself at great risk for charges being leveled, not using a government approved, certified, inspected and age/weight appropriate booster seat. 🙂
