Can Frau Bachmann Take the Heat?
It always happens when you become the frontrunner. The glare of probing reporters questions and looking into your background and past statements has a way of coming back to bite you in the ass. And now it appears that it’s Frau Bachmann’s turn in the hot seat.
A former patient who sought help from the Christian counseling clinic owned by GOP presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann and her husband, Marcus, told ABC News he was advised that prayer could rid him of his homosexual urges and he could eventually be “re-oriented.”
“[One counselor’s] path for my therapy would be to read the Bible, pray to God that I would no longer be gay,” said Andrew Ramirez, who was 17-years-old at the time he sought help from Bachmann & Associates in suburban Minneapolis in 2004. “And God would forgive me if I were straight.”
We’ve read about her past statements where she’s compared gays to Satan (or was that Santa, I get the two confused), saying that “gays live a sad life.” That and policy statements from the APA advising that the so-called “reparative therapy” is unsuccessful and indeed harmful should make one question why these counseling centers are even licensed. They promote quackery. I wonder if she also believes in bloodletting to let the demons out of the body to restore one’s health.
From her bio on Wikipedia:
Bachmann was a longtime member of the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, until June 2011, just before she officially began her presidential campaign. The Salem Church is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, which holds the belief that the Roman Catholic Pope is the Antichrist. In the past, Bachmann has responded to this by stating, “I love Catholics, I’m a Christian, and my church does not believe that the Pope is the Anti-Christ, that’s absolutely false.”
So, she loves Catholics. Isn’t that great. Why didn’t she just say that some of her best friends are Catholic. And while a lot of writers in the MSM call her a “rock star,” she’s just another reactionary who’s leading a putsch to take over the GOP. My only hope is that enough people will wake up and send this “leader” back to the Land of 10,000 Lakes.

Being married to a gay man, she should be an expert on gayness.
