The Last One Out of the Perry for President Offices, Please Turn Out the Lights.
So over the weekend, Rick Perry announced that he wants to invade Mexico, to fight drug cartels I guess. And now it is revealed that his personal hunting lodge in West Texas was called “N*ggerhead” well into his time as governor. Indeed, the title of the ranch was painted in black letters on a large rock at the gate to the “area.” Recently, the rock has been painted white, but the name is still visible through the coat of paint.
So that is the end of Rick Perry as a viable candidate for the GOP nomination. And if he were to continue and somehow win the nomination, the GOP will be looking at a landslide loss.
The Chris Christie boomlet is also probably coming to an end soon. Sources close to the family say the “perception” is that he is not running. And that is probably best, because the bloom is going to come off that rose pretty quick.
So given all of this, it looks like Romney is the gun, unless Palin gets in at the last minutes and sucks up all the anti-Romney vote.
So I was at the Phillies game last night with one of my best friends, who happens to be a rabid conservative. Our discussion in McFadden’s before the game eventually turned to politics. He hates Romney and is convinced if Romney is the nominee, Obama wins easily, because, he says, conservatives will stay home. He said he wasn’t going to vote for Romney under any circumstances. I was pretty surprised by that.
Don’t Republicans have any candidates who aren’t cartoon characters?
If you want a laugh, go read some Republican “think pieces” petulantly complaining about African American solidarity with Democrats, and explaining that they’d really be better off with Republicans.

but i wasn’t going to vote for Kerry because i felt Dean got a raw deal…… guess who i voted for. Every single republican will ultimately show up to vote against Obama.
that said, if Obama HAS to lose, im glad Perry and Mbach are out as possibilities.

Socialist Ben, that is what I think too. But we will see. He seemed pretty dead set against Romney.
