Today is Christie Day
Donald Trump, sources close to his family, and political insiders in New Hampshire, Iowa and South Carolina all say Christie is not going to run. Indeed, Republican strategists in those three states say they have seen no signs that Christie is laying the foundation for a run.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie “is expected to say any day now whether he will reverse his long-held decision to stay out of the 2012 Republican presidential campaign,” the AP reports. Indeed, uncommitted donors were told to wait until Wednesday before endorsing anyone else, to await Christie’s decision.
My gut tells me that Christie just might get in if he thought it was going to be a cake walk to the nomination, like his mere presence would clear the field for him. If it is going to be a struggle to get the nomination, he will stay out of it. Well, a new Washington Post/ABC News shows Christie running in fourth place if he were in the race. Romney leads with 21%, followed by Rick Perry and Herman Cain at 14% and then Christie at 10%.
10%????
The Republican Savior only gets 10%?????
Chris Christie is a media and GOP Establishment creation only.
HAH. Christie…. CAKE…. i get it.
LOL. Actually, that wasn’t an intentional pun. Completely by accident.
If Christie decides to be the not-Romney, he could get a little traction as the other goofballs fall by the wayside.
The RWNJ are in the process of beating down Cain because he had the gall to be offended by Perry’s N*ggerhead ranch.
African Americans can only get by in the GOP if they pretend that there is no such thing as racism. That’s how someone like Republican David can go around thinking Colley’s remarks were “entertainment”
“The RWNJ are in the process of beating down Cain because he had the gall to be offended by Perry’s N*ggerhead ranch. ”
They are POOPs.
If Christie doesn’t run, they will try to draft someone else to beat Romney. Romney’s problem is that he has very nearly 100% name recognition with Republican voters in every poll, but he can’t get even 25% of them to say that they will vote for him in the primaries. Romney is a known quantity and he is not well liked even within his own party.
The real question is: “Who is next?”
Google: Christie + Madoff! Christie is the flavor of the day, but when people find out about his connections with Madoff…goose cooked.
Well, he has a press conference scheduled for 1 pm
Sources tell National Review that Christie will announce he will not run for president.
Meanwhile, it sounds like Palin will run.
He seems to have the same qualities as Andy Reid has for coaching the Eagles: fat, arrogant, stubborn, and he is never going to win the big one.
Not to crack on Christie’s weight but seriously, at his weight these are probably his last few healthy years. By 2016 or 2020 Christie is likely to have serious health problems if he doesn’t slim down. You don’t see many 300+ lb 60-year old guys. If he wants to stay in politics he is going to have to do a Huckabee.
And his press conference is scheduled for the same time Apple announces its new products today — not the act of a man looking to grab a news cycle, you know?
He announced that he is not running. In related news, Chevy Chase announced that Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead.
Cue the tuba fanfare.
Washington Post, Fox News, CNN have already put out their alerts…thank God the fat man Madoff crook isnt running.
Next stop, Dancing With The Stars.
“Cue the tuba fanfare.”
This took a minute to set in for me, but then I giggled my ass off.
He is a walking caricature of a fat mister money bags. He’d rather give himself and his rich friends tax cuts than help impoverished children in New Jersey, so his weight and anything else is fair game.
Ginger has the Christie beat:

A pal on Facebook (who lives in New Jersey) has this reaction:
