Best Internet Fundraising Pitch Ever

Filed in National by on July 17, 2008

Really, just go see.

Sean Tevis is running for State Rep in Kansas where the so-called “intelligent designers” are working hard to make sure that their kids know as little as possible when they leave school. And the ask is only for 8.34. This is spirited and funny and creative as all get out — are any candidates in Delaware using their websites anywhere near this creatively?

Better h/t — Mike Mahaffie is talking about this too and he has the advantage of roots there. Thanks Mike!

  2. There’s a great discussion about this on metafilter from earlier this week. It has become an open policy discussion and example of direct democracy (I may be using the phrase wrong). I picked up on it from there because Sean is running to represent a town my Mahaffie ancestors helped to found.

I’m sending this guy his $8.34. He is brilliant.

The metafilter thread was great — and Sean participated in that discussing his stance on issues and how he decided what issues to highlight on his website. Great guy — hope he wins! And I am sending him $8.34 too….

I just donated $20. He’s pretty close to his goal.

  7. Thanks for the hat tip cassandra! I liked the guy more after reading his interactions on MeFi.
