This still photo is most disturbing. Lt. John Pike has dishonored police as well as the Marine Corps.

Look at the size of that canister of pepper spray. A gift from Homeland Security?

You can tell how much Lt. Pike was in fear for his safety.

Ubiqitous citizen video in action. HD is so important, because it allows facial recognition, and makes the badge names and numbers visible.

Genius series of graphics in this post about wealth inequality. Read all the way to the bottom:

There. That’s what America really looks like. That’s how it looks to elected officials who scramble for campaign cash. Oh, they know you’re down there. Every few years they get out a microscope and reach down to pet your tiny, tiny head. But mostly everything you say just fades into a faint whine…

Watch the video in this post of the spray-loving UC Davis Chancellor leaving the building. It is stunning.

No, it is not yet another video of over-the-top police violence. Instead it is a display of the best among us.

    As the diarist notes:

I’m in awe of these UC students, here and in Berkeley, who have consistently adhered to the principles of creative, non-violent civil disobedience. They’ve punched through the conscience of a nation, laying bare the militarization of our domestic police force while simultaneously taking control of their own narrative.

These kids can’t easily be characterized as “dirty hippies” deserving what they get by the main stream media. Although, of course, they’re trying, by pushing the police narrative that they had “no choice” because they were “surrounded” by protestors.

You don’t have to ask me twice. Anybody who wants to talk about Cassandra’s otherwise worthy post is welcome to join me here.

If you can’t see that both my comments were on topic about the Super Committee, it is an exercise for the reader to decide who is the idiot.

How very Don Ayotte-ish of you, Cassandra.

    Idiot.

There were, of course, other parts of that deal — an extension of unemployment benefits and other stimulative benefits for folks that got no benefit from the tax cuts. And, of course, you had no plan for getting those extensions for other items besides — I guess– doing nothing. But hey — waiting for you to be honest is like waiting for Fox News to actually deliver the news.

Cherry pick your outrage elsewhere. If you want to talk about the Super Committee, you are welcome to be here — if not — take it to another thread or be gone.
