What’s Up With Mitt Romeny RMoney And Song Lyrics?

Filed in National by on March 5, 2012

And why does he act like he’s the only one who’s ever heard of them?

Well, at least he didn’t sing this time.  What other song lyrics will Mitt quote before the primary ends?  Georgia On My Mind?  Indiana Wants Me?  California Dreamin’?

Do you need any further proof that the GOP is getting older and whiter by the minute? Davy Crockett, sheesh. Although I guess we should count ourselves lucky that he didn’t invoke the memory of Sonny Crockett and leap on stage rockin’ a white suit, pink teeshirt and Tigi styling gel.

    😆

He reminds me of my brother-in-law, who is a symphony conductor and lives in his own classical music world (which is pretty cool, btw). About 12 years ago he announced we should all listen to this new talent he discovered and wasn’t sure if we’d heard of… Madonna.

The only song that matters right now is a simple song of freedom
Come and sing a simple song of freedom
Sing it like you’ve never sung before
    Let it fill the air
    Tell the people everywhere
We, the people here, don’t want a war

Hey there, Mister Black Man can you hear me?
I don’t want your diamonds or your game
I just want to be, someone known to you as me
and I will bet my life you want the same

Come and sing a simple song of freedom
Sing it like you’ve never sung before
    Let it fill the air
    Tell the people everywhere
We, the people here, don’t want a war

Seven hundred million are you listening?
Most of what you read is made of lies
But speaking one to one, ain’t it everybody’s sun
To wake to in the morning when we rise?

So come and sing a simple song of freedom
Sing it like you’ve never sung before
    Let it fill the air
    Tell the people everywhere
We, the people here, don’t want a war

    Brother Solzhenitsyn are you busy?
If not would you drop a friend a line?
Tell me if the man, who is plowing up your land
has got the war machine upon his mind

Come and sing a simple song of freedom
Sing it like you’ve never sung before
    Let it fill the air
    Tell the people everywhere
That we, the people here, don’t want a war

Now no doubt some folks enjoy doin’ battle
Like presidents, prime ministers and kings
So let’s build them shelves where they can fight among themselves
and leave the people be who like to sing

Come and sing a simple song of freedom
Sing it like you’ve never sung before
    Let it fill the air
    Tell the people everywhere
That we the people here, don’t want a war

    Let it fill the air
    Tell the people everywhere
That we the people here, don’t want a war

    Freedom!
    Freedom!
    Freedom!

The name is Romney. Too bad some people can’t spell, or is that intentional

  5. pandora says:

Oops! Sorry. I’ll fix it. It should have been RMoney.

  6. Joe Cass says:

Good on you for pointing that out, Karolym

  7. It’s a good strategy for RMONEY. If he’s quoting song lyrics he can’t be talking about how rich he is.
