Cantor Exacts His Revenge

Filed in National by on April 10, 2012

Several years ago, Rep. Don Manzullo (R-Illinois) said that Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Viriginia) could not be “saved” in the Christian-sense of the word. Cantor did not like that comment so much, so he finally got his revenge by supporting Manzullo’s opponent in a primary fight which Manzullo lost.

I find it odd that Cantor taken aback by Manzullo’s comment – it cannot have been the first time that Cantor has heard something like this. As the Republican Party makes their tent smaller and smaller (i.e. the War on Women and their disdain for African-Americans and Latinos), should we be surprised that the GOP would begin to push out any non-believers of Jesus Christ?

I’m glad that the GOP is rabidly religious. Nothing splinters people like religion.
