I’m Liking Team Obama’s Righteous Anger
From Obama deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter:
“Mitt Romney’s continued embrace of Donald Trump and refusal to condemn his disgraceful conspiracy theories demonstrates his complete lack of moral leadership. Now he’s even standing by silently as Trump assails John McCain’s courage in standing up to the most extreme and hateful voices in the Republican Party—all in order to raise money for himself. If Mitt Romney lacks the backbone to stand up to a charlatan like Donald Trump because he’s so concerned about lining his campaign’s pockets, what does that say about the kind of president he would be?”

Awesome! This connects with a bunch of good narratives.
– Romney is a weak-ass flip-flopper, unable to stand up to the GOP’s most lunatic charlatan.
– In addition to being a weak flip-flopper, Romney values money over integrity.
– The GOP is full of Loonytunes and nutsos.
It is just a great play for them, and they will continue to get mileage out of it, because you know full-well that Trump is going to say some nutso shit at that fundraiser.
” Loonytunes and nutsos.” aka mmormons.
Now, now. I’m not going there, but if Romney picked Trump to be the VP nominee – I think his sanity would become an issue.
What people are forgetting in all of this, is when surveyed, half of the registerd voters believe the birth certificate posted on the whitehouse website is fake. Additionally half of the registered voters believe Obama is not eligible to be President. (Including Myself). So whether you agree or disagree with Trump, realize that with half of the registered voters agreeing with him, the fact that Romney continues to use Trump to campaign and fundraise is not a story.
Yes Dils, you have a sure fire winner of an issue on your hands. Please distribute the news that half of the registered voters believe the birth certificate posted on the whitehouse website is fake” widely and loudly.
The loony half of America plus a few bewildered old ladies in Florida is how we got into this mess with Bush in 2000.
“half of the registered voters believe Obama is not eligible to be President. (Including Myself).”
But I bet you thought Christine O’Donnell was not only eligible (despite the fact that she lives in NJ) but also qualified to be a United States Senator.
We got a birther here… Birthers come in two flavors: Stupid and Liar. Which are you?
Oh. And it’s not half. Here’s what Galliup says: “Significantly fewer — but still 13% — say he was probably or definitely born in another country.”
13% is not half, not even for conservatives trying to bend the truth.
And does it really matter? Do you believe that his mother was Ann Dunham? Or do you think that was faked too?? And that would make him eligible EVEN if he was born in Kenya… just like McCain was eligible.
oh Rusty,or should we call you Brian Fantana? “They’ve done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time.”
Rusty — Would you mind giving a link to the survey you cite?
Actually, the article I just googled gets the 50% number by combining those who think the birth certificate is fake with those who are not sure. The study was done by Wenzel Strategies. I don’t know if Wenzel is a valid pollster or not.
Wenzel has another poll that says 20% of Republicans are going to vote for Obama.
It is sad to think that 50% of our fellow Americans are so limited in their critical thinking skills or so ignorant about politics or so stupid or so racist that they would buy the birther conspiracy blather.
Even if the number is much much lower, and even if Obama was born in the U.S. My point is that Obama is substantially responsible for alot of this controversy with Trump and many others because it is very very obvious at this point, that at some time in Obama’s life, he “allowed” people to believe he was foreign born. Whether it was his book publishing company, for 15 plus years, or his academic institutions, Prior to being President, the minimum that Barack Obama did was “allow” people to believe he was foreign born. So he can now complain all he wants, but he clearly misrepresented himself at an earlier age, So the fact that people are now crying foul, is substantially his own fault. And my other point is, Even if the number of non believers is only 13%, that is still a few million people, which means that Trumps statements are not that far out of the main stream.
13% = not far out of the mainstream.
Gotta love wingnut math.
…smokin’ pot, doin’ a little blow, getting into college as Soros’ son, 3.7 grade point…it’s all easy with friends in high places and affirmative action.
yeah.because the secret service, fbi, cia and the pentagon don’t give a shit from where their orders originate. It all makes perfect sense, for you to be institutionalized.
Rock, what does George w. Bush have to do with this? Oh wait. W would have killed for a 3.x grade point average.
But seriously folks, notice the naked racism. They don’t even pretend anymore.
Rockland–
Are you 100 years old? Pretty much everyone between the ages of 15-45 between 1965-199? who wasn’t a completely sheltered douchebag smoked pot and/or did coke.
I graduated from public high school in the late ’80s & some of my classmates (all Republicans now) had $700/week coke habits. They’re all productive citizens too. The only difference between them @ age 18 & Obama @ age 18 is that they had rich, well-connected, white Greenville Republican daddies who could buy their way into any college they wanted.
Pandora, what I mean is this, the msm make it sound like trumps comments are so far out in left field that he is all by himself. Thats not true, 13 percent means millions of people agree with him. So if millions of people agree with trump, then his comments can not be claimed as irrational.
Dils is right. It is the rule of 13%. If you can get 13% of any group of dunderheads to agree with your racist bullshit, then it becomes true.
OMG = I found it!!Codified into the Code of Federal Regulations – Mitt Romney was right according to this section People ARE Coorporations!!
31 CFR B Chapter 1, Part 103
Subpart B
d) Transactions of exempt persons….
for purposes of this paragraph (d)(2)(v), a person that is a financial institution,..
@Rusty – ” he “allowed” people to believe he was foreign born. ”
one does not AlLOW anyone to believe anything – that only works for complete fools and idiots that cannot think for themselves, you know like the Birthers and the Republicans….whoops did I say that 😉
I’m sure if Obama had the ability to do this, he would “allow” people to belive that he WAS born in Hawaii
this whole steaming pile of Sh** is like saying a rape victim was “begging for it”. Someone is going to FORCE the victim to do something – then blame the victim when it happens
I do believe that is called scape-goating and most intelligent, thoughtful folks see thru it – Sorry for your luck there ole” Rusty
Be all that as it may, all the getting mad, calling people names, and cussing, is not going to make this go away.
@RDL “Pretty much everyone … who wasn’t a completely sheltered douchebag smoked pot and/or did coke.”
Well I never did. My wife never did. And I went to a college where few did and where even drinking was rather moderate. It has more to do with socio-economic class and less about being sheltered.
@Rd “Be all that as it may, all the getting mad, calling people names, and cussing, is not going to make this go away.”
It will go away when he leaves office in 2017. Until then it’s a losing issue for the GOP. It turns reasonable people off. If Romney continues to solicit funds based on this issue, I hope the Dems hang it around Romney’s neck for all to see. It makes it appear (in a very clear manner) that Romney will sacrifice his integrity for money — Not a good trait for a President to project.
And once again, Rusty is living proof of that old Dan Quayle saying – what a waste it is to lose one’s mind.
“if millions of people agree with trump, then his comments can not be claimed as irrational.”
Uh…yes. Yes they can. Irrationality has nothing to do with popularity.
I read Dils’ comments and I honestly wonder how he manages to get by in this world. There is a lot of charity coming from somewhere.
I’ll wager that he is supported by public funds. That’s how so many conservatives get by… and the wealthy liberals are nice enough to keep paying (often with scorn instead of thanks in return).
Liberal Elite, Rusty Dils is self employed, makes his own way in this world. No help from government
so you built your own power grid and roads? do you have your own police force to protect you? how bout your own fire department? ever attend a public school? Do you drink water from the tap, or collect your own rain water? I suppose you feel safe from foreign invasion because you have your own army and defense system? (why do you consider our brave men and women in uniform useless?)
Liberiot (libertarian + idiot)
Ben – I have good news for you. 29% of people have a positive impression of the word Socialism. By Rusty’s logic, you are free to proceed with all due haste. I suspect this could get you a phone interview on CNN by the end of the day.
id say about 80% of people dont actually know what socialism is….
Actually, 10% of Americans either believe that Hawaii isn’t a state or they aren’t sure. That is MILLIONS of Americans that have doubts about Hawaii. This must mean that Hawaii may not be a state. Obviously.
@rd “…No help from government”
What? No social security either? That’s actually just one more direct way for rich liberals to help poor conservatives.
LG, Just to be clear, the “Hawaii isn’t a state” consensus needs to get to 13% to be binding.
Damn that 13% rule!
