at 1:50: “with EVERY dollar that is bet, a dollar is set aside to deal with that issue (problem gaming)”

    Huh?

    Where’s the revenue in that?

  2. Jason330 says:

1 min in… Oh gawd! “protecting 2,000 casino jobs”. Slots needed to save horse racing jobs, and now online needed to save slots jobs. Can’t we build industries that don’t depend on an ever expanding ponzi scheme to stay afloat? What rabbit are they going to pull out of the hat to save the online jobs?

  3. cassandra_m says:

We should count ourselves lucky that the State of Delaware isn’t providing hookers to the high rollers yet. You know — saving jobs!

  4. puck says:

Better check and see if that got passed by accident.

  5. mediawatch says:

No. Providing hookers would not be saving jobs, it would be creating jobs — thereby reducing the unemployment rate.
Two ways to approach it: go to DEDO and make a request for a grant out of the Strategic Fund, or the casinos could write it off against the additional “marketing expenses” permitted under the legislation.

  6. John Manifold says:

If Dover Downs purchases the Teakettle, then we’ll know they’re providing the comfort.
