9/11 QOD

Filed in National by on September 11, 2008

If you were just told that your mother and father have just been beaten to death, would you wait about 10 minutes, finish up your last couple of pages in your book before you reacted and did anything?

If it was as engrossing as “My Pet Goat” I might.

  2. rsmitty says:

    Depends on the book.

    BTW, 9/11 QOD #6.

  3. rsmitty says:

Crap, Geek kinda beat me to it.

  4. pandora says:

I am so loving these questions!

  5. pandora says:

Now… can we number these questions?

  6. Tom S. says:

If I lived in a universe where by stopping the reading of the book I would bring them back to life I would probably stop.

  7. anon says:

If you were POTUS you might very well be in a position not to bring them back, but to prevent more deaths by acting sooner rather than later.

  8. pandora says:

(whispers) Has anyone else noticed the lack of substance coming from the other side of the aisle in relation to these questions?

  9. Tom S. says:

“If you were POTUS you might very well be in a position not to bring them back, but to prevent more deaths by acting sooner rather than later.”

And how exactly would that work?

  10. G Rex says:

So, if you were in the middle of getting a hummer in your office from an intern and you got the same news, would you stop her or let her finish the job?

  11. liberalgeek says:

Depends on the hummer. h/t Smitty

  12. pandora says:

Still no substantive answer from the other side of the aisle.

  13. mike w. says:

“Still no substantive answer from the other side of the aisle.”

    Pot, meet kettle.

  14. A. Bundy says:

    ZZZZZZZZ

  15. Dana says:

If you were in President Bush’s position, after the first airplane strike you would have thought it was a tragic accident. That’s as much as his staff knew, that’s as much as he knew at the time.

What should the President of the United States do if, while engaging in some harmless visit to an elementary school, he is informed that a tragic accident has occurred, such as the collapse of the I 35W bridge. From the perspective of a presumed accident, do you think he should put our nuclear forces on alert or something?

  16. Unstable Isotope says:

I think you would do something other than freeze up for 5 minutes. Of course, he spent at least one day out of sight after it happened – Cheney was the one who was about to order Flight 93 to be shot down.

  17. pandora says:

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Bush was informed that America was under attack. He chose to stay in that classroom reading My Pet Goat.

Can we please stop rewriting history?

  18. WRONG DANA.

ANDREW CARD SAID, “MR PRESIDENT, AMERICA IS UNDER ATTACK”

christ Dana, did you really believe that?

  19. Sharon says:

God, you people are disgusting. We’re not talking about a Harrison Ford character from a movie here. I pray to God that I don’t get to gloat over you guys if a President Obama doesn’t jump up, fly out the window and go save the U.S. in the first 5 minutes after an attack. But you know something? Maybe I’ll be just as stupid and churlish. There’s your reasoned answer, Pandora. Stupid, disgusting questions get the back of my hand.

  20. cassandra_m says:

That’s alot of vituperation, Sharon, just to say that you wish GWB had reacted more decisively so you wouldn’t have to be mad when we point that out to you.

Which you’d be working like runway model outfit if a President Obama had done the same thing.
