This is the Pagan Creek Dike, near New Road near Lewes. The dike was built in 1660 by the Dutch, who used it as a roadway to travel across the marshland along Canary Creek from the settlement that is now Lewes.
How is it possible that none of you knew that??? (I’m joking).
