Election Day Afternoon Open Thread [11.6.12]
We are going to know pretty early how the night is going. If we have early calls for Ohio and Pennsylvania around the 8 pm hour, then it is Obama’s night. If North Carolina gets called early for Romney, while PA and OH are not, it will be nail biter.
Here are all the final poll closing times in ET:
7:00 pm: GA, IN, KY, SC, VT, VA
7:30 pm: NC, OH, WV
8:00 pm: AL, CT, DE, DC, FL, IL, ME, MD, MA, MS, MO, NH, NJ, OK, PA, RI, TN
8:30 pm: AR
9:00 pm: AZ, CO, KS, LA, MI, MN, NE, NM, NY, ND, SD, TX, WI, WY

it begins.
The pace of reports of voter intimidation and voting machine irregularities is alarming already at this hour. If half the reports on Daily Kos are true, then America is under attack.
V, thanks for the link. I also liked this feature at Jezebel: http://jezebel.com/5957982/a-is-for-awesome-the-a-is-for-campaign-fights-for-womens-reproductive-rights?tag=war-on-women
Also, I heard a woman on with Allan Loudell this morning from the PAL in Hockessin. She said she had voted for Romney. When Allan asked if she had voted straight R, she said no, that she also voted for Karen Weldin Stewart and Tom Gordon, and that she really didn’t know much about local issues.
Just read this on the CNN Live Blog:
“Dropping by Landmark Restaurant in Cleveland Tuesday, Vice President Joe Biden gave a preview of his future plans. Asked by a fellow diner whether he was going to run in another election, Biden said, “Oh, I’m going to go back home and run for county council.””
Look out Bob Weiner, Biden is gunning for your seat!
The first significant race to watch tonight is Virginia. If that goes Obama, then it’s all over early.
Holy shit. Check out Mary Matlin on CNN… That wig makes me think that she is as bald as James Caville.
My first race outside this state to watch is going to be the Scott Brown-Elizabeth Warren one in Massachusetts. Love Elizabeth Warren!
