When I do the “Around the Horn” I’m always struck by how many good blogs there are. I’m also struck by how the good writing comes (for the most part) in waves. This is just an outworking of the fact that we are not paid writers and journalists, but lawyers, taxi drivers, teachers, mothers, and people just trying to get along.
The bottom line is, it is hard to keep a political blog going. So I was wondering if any bloggers would be interested in taking part in big group blog that strove for three posts per day – but from any source.
The idea is a touch less vaporous this morning, as I went ahead and put up this blog: The Golden Fleece Tavern
… and now this post in order to test the concept.
I think everyone wants to keep their own editorial control over their own thin – but is there a place in the ecology of the Delaware blogosphere for a big group blog? I don’t know.
kind of like the delaware alliance? 🙂
I want to be donviti the baptist if we do
count me in
Occasionally we get an interesting discussion going on the PDD Yahoo Group, like right now it’s about Initiatives and Referrendums in Delaware. Would this be the sort of thing you are looking for?
Yes. If we can get some of those folks interested in posting everyonce in a while it would be great.
Do you know about the 50-state blog project that MyDD and Chris Bowers are advocating?
As a non-native, it seems that Delaware would be really ripe for this kind of blogging. The New Journal doesn’t cover politics particularly well and you seem to need to know people to get plugged into the narrative.
Any thoughts on pulling together some like-minded bloggers to participate in Chris’ project?
If this is successful, then maybe you could move to a soapblox type blog.
I am certainly interested. It is difficult to come up with topics that strike your fancy and might be interesting to others. I have been in a small drought for a few days, luckily no one reads the blog… 🙂
Is this intended to be a left of center group blog or simply a DE group blog?
Just a DE politics blog.
Jason is determined to make a difference in DE!!!
I think that we all love to be in the Horn and now this step might not be to tough to arrange.
The GOPer-only election blog ended up almost entirely run be Paul Smith.
